![]() Week 8 finds a 3 way tie for first and a 5-way tie for 4th. Everyone is still very much in the mix, even the M. Takers. We've had our first trade in a couple of years (I think) between the M. Takers and Dream Team. I'd like to thank Bubba for finishing up lineups for me on Sunday. Don't forget the web-exclusive "Weekly Previews" and "Free Agents List" when making those starting lineup changes or making that acquisition that puts you over the top. If you have an idea for something new, let me know and we'll see if I can add it. If you would still like the Notes mailed to you let me know and I will start mailing them out to you. It is cheaper and also much quicker to go electronic. The league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com . Key Matchups to watch this Week Week 9 match-ups are only one game series. The Jelly Beans take on the BYE-battered Bull Dogs (say that 10 times fast). The scheduling Gods have been nice to the defending champs. The Body Shop faces a woe-ridden M. Taker team. The question here is who is having a worse year, The Takers or the VIKES? The Secane Tsunami and the Good Fellas meet in a battle of teams coming off losses. he Dream Team meet in a contest of teams riding the high of a fresh "W" in the standings. The Black & Blue and Quiet Storm meet up in their only meeting this year. Spock was also 4/5 this week making him 17/35 (49%) on the season. He regains top billing and his locks appear above. Norm was 3/5 this week making him 19/35 (54%) on the season and his lines (my estimates) are below: BD -1 JB (99) DT -9 BR(110)MT -2 BS (91) BB -2 QS (97) ST -3 GF (98) One game was over on Sunday. Another two were more or less over. The final two were up in the air. The Dream Team beat the M. Takers in the most lopsided contest on this week's schedule. The Dream Team scored their 2nd helmet of the year, despite benching 66 points from Bell and Palmer. If things weren't bad enough for the Takers, they lost their 1st round pick to injury. The Dream Team was led by T.O. Muhammad led the Takers in the loss. The Black & Blue Attack and a 42 point lead were too much for the Jelly Beans and Reed. The Attack was led by Delhomme and won the game in a big way even though several of their big name players were home watching games with the week off. The Beans were led by Branch in the loss. Barber and Taylor would have kept the Beans in sole possession of first place. Of course I may have been forced check the Beans in for psychiatric help if they benched L.T.2. for Fred Taylor. |
The Bull Dogs and a 49 point lead were too much for the Body Shop and "Big Ben". The Dogs were led by first-half MVP Steve Smith. The Dogs huge point lead is almost like an extra win and could prove meaningful in a tight year like this. The Shop wasted a MVP performance by Gates in the loss. Moulds & Martin, hmm . . The Secane Tsunami and a 4 point lead were not enough to hold off the Black Revenge and the Steelers. The Revenge was led by McNabb and won despite goose-eggs from the running game. The Tsunami were led by a stellar performance by Galloway in the loss. A 4 point game will almost always garner "GOW" honors, but this week there was another candidate. A Chris Brown start would have given us seven 4-4 teams. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Good Fellas and the Quiet Storm. The Storm's 26 point lead going into Monday night was just barely enough to hold off the Fellas, Jamal Lewis, Hines Ward and Matt Stover. The Fellas Monday night trio garnered 25 points, leaving the Fellas one Hines Ward catch of losing a tiebreaker and 2 short of a "W". Mason or Johnson started over Clayton or Moss would have made the Fellas sleep a lot better on Monday night. The Storm was led by Carson Palmer. The Fellas were led by Stover in the loss. This game featured absolutely 0 RB points. In the old scoring system there would have been 0 WR points also. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
