NORM'S LINES FORMAT - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

Week 6 finds all the teams within 2 games of each other. Nobody is running away with it and nobody is in a falling way behind. Don't forget the web-exclusive "Weekly Previews" and "Free Agents List" when making those starting lineup changes or making that acquisition that puts you over the top. If you have an idea for something new, let me know and we'll see if I can add it.

If you need me to mail the Notes, give me a call, I think we can avoid the postage, one way or another, if not I will mail you a copy of the notes. It is cheaper and also much quicker to go electronic. The league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com .

Key Matchups to watch this Week

The Jelly Beans take on the M. Takers, currently these teams are on opposite sides of the standings but the distance between them is not that large. The Body Shop takes on the Black & Blue Attack in another battle between 4-2 and 2-4 teams. The Quiet Storm and Black Revenge meet in a battle involving former partners. In a battle of 2-4 teams, the Secane Tsunami take on the Dream Team. In another contest between former partners the Good Fellas take on the Bull Dogs.

Norm was also 2/5 this week making him 12/25 (48%) on the season. He gains top billing and his lines appear above. Spock was 1/5 this week making him 11/25 (44%) on the season and his Locks are below:

JB -15 MT(127)     DT  -2 ST(142)
BS  -6 BB(146)     BD -18 GF(128)
BR  -7 QS(141)

One game was over on Sunday. Three more were more or less over. The final one was up in the air (injury report huge again).

The Secane Tsunami pulled their neighbors the Jelly Beans back to the pack. The Tsunami was led by the newly acquired Mark Brunnell and survived an ill-advised last minute insertion of Joe Horn in the lineup for Drew Bennett. The Beans put up some points in the loss as the FALCONS scored twice and LT did everything but kick a field goal. The Beans had a free agent acquisition come through for the too in Shockey. It is always tough to take the 'L' when you put up over 80 points.

The Body Shop, Bulger and a 25 point lead were too much for the Dream Team and Jackson on Monday night. Actually the Dream Team carried a lead into Sunday night, but the Shop Sunday night RB's combined for 5 TD's and more or less salted the game away. The Shop was led by Alexander who blew up on Sunday night again. Chad Johnson put up good numbers for the Dream Team in the loss.

The Good Fellas, Manning, Vanderjagt and a 56 point lead were too much for the Black & Blue Attack, James, Harrison, Curtis and the COLTS on Monday night. OK, just mentioning all those Monday night players has left me with no room to discuss the game . . . . just kidding. Mike & Eddie - 3 points on Sunday. That just ain't gonna' get it done. Of course if you remove the MVP performance of Moss, the Fellas did not score a whole lot more. They did have a QB and PK left though.

The Quiet Storm, Wilkins and a 44 point lead were just too much on Monday for the M. Takers, Faulk and Wayne. The Takers (which I might as well just call the VIKINGS) had a little too much fun on the BYE and clearly were not ready to come back and put points on the board. Of course they weren't exactly lighting it up before the BYE. Hey Bubba, at least your non-VIKING lineup from last week is 1-0. The Storm was led by Priest Holmes (and everybody was worried that he was done).

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Dogs and Black Revenge. For the 2nd straight week the Monday night "Inactive" list might determine the outcome of the "GOW". The Revenge held an 8 point lead against Holt and the Bull Dogs. A healthy Holt will normally put up at least a 9 against even a surprisingly good COLTS defense. An inactive Holt had no chance to put up points. Holt shrugged off the "Questionable" tag, put on his RAMS uniform and led the Bull Dogs to the edge of victory, but not quite all the way there. The Revenge was led by Pittman and Givens in the close "W". The other desperation plug-in Thompson did not pan out as well. The "Revenge" phone lines were burning as they tried to plug several injury and BYE week holes. The Bull Dogs were led by Steve Smith and could have avoided all them Monday night Madness stuff, if they had not substituted Davis for Jones in a last minute lineup change. How often do those last minute lineup changes back-fire.

CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
Dream Team (Norm): Suspicously Absent!!
Bull Dogs (John T.): "A win is a win is a win, even if it's as ugly as that. Bring it on brother."
