![]() Week 4 finds a whole bunch of teams at 2-2. There also a couple at 1-2 and 3-1, but nobody is running away with this at this point. We've even had 4 different helmet teams proving how much parity there is in the league. Don't forget the web-exclusive "Weekly Previews" and "Free Agents List" when making those starting lineup changes or making that acquisition that puts you over the top. If you have an idea for something new, let me know and we'll see if I can add it. If you need me to mail the Notes, give me a call, I think we can avoid the postage, one way or another, if not I will mail you a copy of the notes. It is cheaper and also much quicker to go electronic. The league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com . Key Matchups to watch this Week The Jelly Beans will take on the Dream Team in an in-family squabble. The Beans seem well on their way to defending their championship; the Dream Team would like to unseat them. The Secane Tsunami will take on the Body Shop in a battle with one of the oldest "names" in the league and one of the more disliked "names". The Goodfellas get the "BYE" against the M. Takers. I am still trying to figure out if the Takers can field a legal lineup with the VIKINGS off. The semi-annual "Black Bowl" features the Black Revenge and the Black & Blue Attack. As usual at least one of these teams are right in the thick of it. The Bull Dogs take on the Quiet Storm in the final match-up. Both teams are trying to rebound from losses. Spock was 2-5 this week making him 6-15 (40%) on the season and he gains top billing and his locks appear above. Norm was also 2-5 this week making him 8-15 (53%) on the season and his Lines (actually my estimates) are below: DT -8 JB(110) BB -3 BR (99)ST -1 BS (97) QS -4 BD (98) MT -2 GF (98) Two of the games were over on Sunday. The other three were up in the air (sort of). The Jelly Beans climbed to 3-1 on the strength of a "W" over the Quiet Storm. The Beans were led by LT2 and Fitzgerald. The Storm was led by Jackson and Jimmy Smith. The Storm was desperate to get a WR this week because they did not want to play Coles because of the JETS QB problem. Perhaps they should have looked to Donte' on their bench instead of the waiver wire. |
The Body Shop defeated the Good Fellas with Colbert still to come. The Shop was led Bulger and Burress. The Fellas lost but they had to be happy to see Manning return 04 form. The Fellas squandered some bench points, but not enough to make a difference. The Black Revenge and a 25 point lead were too much for the M. Takers and Green. The Revenge was led by McNabb. The M. Takers only had their kicker clear double digits. The Takers did not have much help on the bench either. The "W" puts the Revenge in a tie for first place ahead of the 2-2 logjam. The Dream Team and a 21 point lead were too much for the Bull Dogs and Steve Smith. The Dream Team were led by TO. The "W" brings the Dream Team to .500 and that little theory of theirs is far from being decided. The game looked like a laugher until Neil Rackers kicked and kicked and kicked the Bull Dogs back into contention. The Packer shutdown Steve Smith and the Dream Team and Bull Dogs join the logjam at 2-2. By the way there were a truckload of bench points on the Bull Dogs bench and the Bull Dogs "Best Lineup" scored over 100. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Secane Tsunami and the Black and Blue Attack. The Attack, Driver, Kasay and a 12 point lead were not enough to hold off the Tsuanmi, Favre and the PANTHERS. Favre spent the first half digging a hole for his team. He spent the 2nd half pulling his team and the Tsunami out of that same hole. The old gunslinger came up short for his NFL team but he kept his SWFFL team from falling to 1-3. I honestly though old number 4 was done, but apparently he ain't dead yet. There were plenty of points on both benches. The winner of this game joined the logjam at 2-2. The loser joined the Takers in the basement. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
