![]() I hope everyone had a very Merry Xmas. Week 16, finds the Championship battle down to only 2 teams (it has been essentially a 2 horse race for a while). If the Quiet Storm wins they win their 3rd Title. If the Storm loses and the Beans win and the Beans their rather large point differential, they will win their second title (in a row). It is the last week and 7 teams are still alive for a Elite Spot. Not a bad year at all. There are Saturday Games this week, be aware. Also, next week is "Consolation" week. Don't forget the web-exclusive "Weekly Previews" and "Free Agents List" when making those starting lineup changes or making that acquisition that puts you over the top. If you have an idea for something new, let me know and we'll see if I can add it. If you need me to mail the Notes, give me a call, I think we can avoid the postage, one way or another, if not I will mail you a copy of the notes. It is cheaper and also much quicker to go electronic. The league's url is < href="http://swffl.50megs.com">http://swffl.50megs.com . Key Matchups to watch this Week The Jelly Beans will try to keep their repeat chances alive and get a measure of revenge against the Black & Blue Attack. The Attack probably needs to win to keep that last Elite Spot. The Quiet Storm will try to sew up the Title by repeating their early season win against the Good Fellas. The Fellas need a "W" and some help to find themselves above the Elite Line at the end of the year. In a battle of teams playing for pride, the Black Revenge will try to complete the season sweep of the Secane Tsunami. The Dream Team will try to complete the season sweep of the M. Takers and keep their 2nd place dreams alive. The Takers would need a miraculous number of points and some help to avoid the basement slot at the end of the season. The Bull Dogs will try to complete the season sweep of the Body Shop. Both teams need the "W" and some help to keep their Elite hopes alive. I messed up Week 16's predictions, so we will be skipping that week again. Spock is 33/60 (55%) on the season. He retains top billing. Norm (my estimates) is 28/60 (47%) on the season. His lines (my estimates) are below: BB -1 JB (99) DT -9 MT(110)GF -2 QS (98) BS -2 BD (96) ST -3 BR (97) Three games were over on Sunday. The other 2 were close to over but were not in the "all but over" category. The Jelly Beans completed the season sweep of the M. Takers. The loss all but guarantees that the Takers will be holding down that basement position in the Final Standings. The "W" keeps the Beans repeat hopes alive, although they will need some help. Look for the Beans house to be adorned in the "Good Fellas" colors. The Beans were led by Andre Johnson and Fitzgerald and they had Brady in Reserve on Monday night. The Takers running game let them down. I am not sure if we've ever had a team fail to reach triple digits in RB scoring, but this may be the year. |
The Body Shop avoided the season sweep of the Black & Blue Attack. The "W" keeps the Shop Elite hopes alive. The Shop was led by Alexander and Clayton (a late season free-agent gem). The Black & Blue has lost 2 in a row and is in serious danger of sliding out of the Elite. The Attack's WR's put up points but those top 3 slots let them down. The Bull Dogs avoided the sweep by the Good Fellas as their vaunted WR corps led the way with an assist from the Jones bots at RB. The Fellas and PATRIOTS could not overcome a 22 point lead on Monday night. The Fellas were led by Snatnan Moss who has way outplayed that other guy named Moss. The Dream Team and a 20 point lead were too much for the Secane Tsunami and Corey Dillon on Monday night. With the "W' the Dream Team completes the season sweep of the Tsunami and all but locks up a Elite spot. The Dream Team was led by Johnson & Johnson. Brunell and Bennet led the Tsunami in the losing effort. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Quiet Storm and the Black Revenge. The Quiet Storm completed the season sweep of the Revenge and kept the inside track to the Championship by pulling out some Sunday Night Madness. The BEARS were the Storm's final bullet and they chipped away at the Revenge lead, but it looked like the Revenge might survive. The Packers got the ball back with less than a minute to go. Favre got sacked twice and threw his 4th Int. That gave the Storm a 2 point win. The Storm's stunning com from behind "W" was led by the BEARS, but newly acquired Frank Gore kept them within striking distance. Interestingly the Revenge was also led by their Defense in the losing effort. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
