![]() Week 14 finds a new team at the top of the standings after I all but crowned the Beans. With 3 games left there are still 3 teams with very good shots at the title. There are 2 more with outside chances. The 7-7 teams would need several miracles. There are Saturday Games this week, be aware. Don't forget the web-exclusive "Weekly Previews" and "Free Agents List" when making those starting lineup changes or making that acquisition that puts you over the top. If you have an idea for something new, let me know and we'll see if I can add it. If you would still like the Notes mailed to you let me know and I will start mailing them out to you. It is cheaper and also much quicker to go electronic. The league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com . Key Matchups to watch this Week The Secane Tsunami will try to sweep both ends of the "Cedar Lane" series as they take on a suddenly struggling Jelly Beans. The Shop will try to complete the sweep of the Dream Team and keep their Elite hopes alive. The Black & Blue Attack will try to cement their position in the Elite by sweeping the Good Fellas. In a battle between two extremes, the first place Quiet Storm will try to complete the season sweep of the last place M. Takers. The Black Revenge will try to avoid being the next team with a "z" next to their name by sweeping the Bull Dogs. Spock was 4 of 5 making him 33/60 (55%) on the season. He regains top billing. Norm (my estimates) was 1 of 5 making 28/60 (47%) on the season. His lines (my estimates) are below: ST -1 JB (97) MT -1 QS (95)DT -7 BS(108) BR -2 BD (99) GF -2 BB (97) Two games were over on Sunday. The rest were more or less over. The Good Fellas avenged their early season loss to the M. Takers. The Fellas were led by Manning and Vanderjagt. At 8-6 the Fellas are just out of the Elite by points. The Takers had a big 28 on the bench in Moats, but the Takers went with the VIKING twins at RB. In their defense, they may have been persuaded to take a wait and see attitude with Moats. |
The Dream Team avenged their early season loss to the Jelly Beans. The Dream Team was led by Johnson and Brown. The "w" by the Dream Team combined with the Bull Dog "L", put the Dream Team above the Elite Line. The Beans were led by Brady and Barber in the loss. The "L" combined with the Storm "W" knocked the Beans out of first. The Body Shop completed the season sweep of the Secane Tsunami, as Dunn and Horn could not overcome a 48 point lead. The Shop was led by Gates and a good running game. Only Shane Graham managed to clear double digit scoring for the Tsunami. The Tsunami had a boatload of running back points on the bench, but there best lineup would have lost. The Tsunami earned the dreaded Z mark in the standings. The Black & Blue Attack swept both instances of the "Blac Bowl" this year as the Black Revenge and Steckler could not overcome a 7 point lead and Petersen on Monday night. The Attack were led by great performances by Harrison and Chambers. With the "W" the Attack kept pace with the front-running Storm. The Revenge put up a high score in the losing effort and were led by Hassleback and Cadillac. The loss outs the Revenge on the brink of elimination. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Quiet Storm and the Bull Dogs. The game was decided by 6 points, but 5 of those points were from Stallworth on Monday night. The Storm was led by Johnson and Smith as they claimed the top spot in the standings. The Storm has won 5 in a row and are most definitely on a roll. It doesn't matter how much time you spend in the penthouse during the season, all that matters is who resides there after week 17. The loss by the Dogs dropped them out of the Elite. The Dogs once again "Drew" the wrong QB out of the hat as their starter. They also left Glenn on the bench with a bunch of bench points. Must have been that scary CHIEFS defense. All of the Dogs WRs managed to get double digits. The Dogs also were not hurt by their unconventional benching of Holt. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
