NORM'S LINES FORMAT - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

Week 7 finds everything tightening up in the standings. In fact all but 2 teams are only 1 game out of the Elite. Check those BYE WEEKS when making up your lineup. I have only received two votes on the Free-Agent list (both yes), so I will call the vote to a close on Sunday at 1:00, so get your votes in.

If you need me to mail the Notes, give me a call, I think we can avoid the postage, one way or another, if not I will mail you a copy of the notes. It is cheaper and also much quicker to go electronic. The league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com .

Key Matchups to watch this Week

The M. Takers take on the Black Revenge. This is a battle between old "VETS" that harkens back to the "Freddy" days. The Quiet Storm takes on the Sharks. The Storm has been on a roll, but the Sharks are 2-0 against Elite Teams. The Black & Blue Attack meets the Dream Team. The Attack is still in first, but they are coming off a loss. The Dream Team is on a mini-roll. The Bull Dogs take on the Good Fellas in a battle between ex-partners. Both teams are trying to bounce back from a loss. The Body Shop and Jelly Beans square off in a battle with teams from opposite ends of the standings.

Norm (my estimates) was 4/5 this week and is 16/30 (53%) on the season. He retains top billing (my estimates). Spock was 3/5 this week and is 14/30 (47%) on the season. His locks are below:

BR  -4 MT(108)     BD  -4 GF(106)
QS  -6  S(114)     JB -19 BS(115)
BB -14 DT(112)

Three games were over on Sunday. The other two were pretty much over.

The M. Takers defeated the Bull Dogs and still had Elam in reserve. The Takers were led by Priest Holmes who hit the Endzone 4 times. The Bull Dogs were led by Marvin Harrison in the loss. This game featured 0 points from the QB position and coaching efficiencies both under 80%.

The Sharks knocked off the first place Black & Blue Attack. The Sharks were led by Peyton Manning, while the Black & Blue received a rather ordinary 6 out of Daunte Culpepper. The truth is that even a big day out of Daunte (like the back to back 45's) would have not saved the Attack from a second 'L'. The 'W' by the Sharks keeps them in the midst of the mayhem at the middle of the pack.

The Quiet Storm pretty much whipped the Body Shop. The Shop still had Rudi amd Reuben on Monday night, but they would be hard pressed to overcome an 85 point lead. The Patriot "Triple Ripple" was a good idea to shake up the team a bit and maybe wake them up, but the Storm just put up way too many points. Ahman Green, Terell Owens and the RAVENS each scored over 20 points for the Storm. The Storm picks up a game on the first-place team and their point total very well may be a factor. The Shop is in serious trouble at this point and unlike the early years of the SWFFL, I do not think they pull out any 'Majik' off the waiver wire, but who knows maybe Droughns will wind up being the real deal and put the Shop back in the hunt.

The Jelly Beans, Chad Johnson and a 44 point lead were too much for the Black Revenge and Ashley Lelie on Monday Night. The Beans were lead by perhaps the surprise fantasy player of the year, Tiki Barber. It seems like he has a 50-plus yard TD every week. The Revenge got a little scoring form a lot of places, but they was it was a little scoring.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Dream Team and the Good Fellas. It was the closest game and there really was not much in the way of Monday Night madness. The Dream Team defeated the Good Fellas with Rod Smith still to come on Monday. The family affair seemed to be going the other way early as Donovan lit up the scoreboard. In fact it looked very much like Mr. McNabb would cover the Fellas mistake of starting Gardner on the BYE. The Dream Team steadily chipped away at the lead and pulled ahead at the end. Donovan was left high and dry by a running game that had been pretty good most of the year. Incidentally, the WR removed to make room for Gardner was Chambers who put up an 18 spot.

CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
Dream Team (Norm): "Dream Team sputtering like the EAGLES. Both Need a QB to turn it around."
Bull Dogs (John T.): "Of all the weeks, Priest Holmes picks this week to show up and play football."
