![]() Week 5 finds no undefeated teams and no winless teams. Check those BYE WEEKS when making up your lineup. A semi-request has come in for a list of free-agents, perhaps on the web site. I know there was some resistance to this in the past, so I will ask before putting something like that up. Give me a 'Yes' or 'No' on a Free-Agents Listing. I forgot to ask about this, so send me your vote. If you need me to mail the Notes, give me a call, I think we can avoid the postage, one way or another, if not I will mail you a copy of the notes. It is cheaper and also much quicker to go electronic. The league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com . Key Matchups to watch this Week The M. Takers take on the Dream Team in a battle of "Football Central" residents. In honor of that we may revive "Football Central" for this week. The Jelly Beans and Good Fellas meet in a Family Feud. Both teams are in the thick of it. The Black Revenge and Quiet Storm meet in a battle of former partners. The Revenge is battling for the top spot and the Storm is battling to get over the Elite Line. The Sharks meet the Bull Dogs. The Bull Dogs catch a break as Peyton is off this week. The Body Shop and Black & Blue Attack meet in the final game. The Black & Blue is at the top of the standings. The Shop is NOT. Norm was 3/5 this week and is 9/20(45%) on the season. He gains top billing. Spock was 2/5 this week and is 10/20 (50%) on the season. His locks are below: DT -3 MT (95) BD -6 S(114)GF -4 JB(130) BB -19 BS(103) BR -3 QS(123) Two games were over before Monday night. Another two were pretty much over. The final one was still up in the air. The M. Takers captured their first 'W' against the Defending Champion Good Fellas. The Takers were led by Plaxico Buress. They also got some scoring out of Bettis, some guy name Mewelde and Keyshawn. The Priest was on the the BYE. Vick failed to put up points and that "BUST" tag is taking hold. The Fellas were missing their main cannon as Donovan was on the BYE. They put up enough points to make it in interesting though. |
The Black & Blue Attack won the first of two 'BLACK' bowls, handed the Black Revenge their first 'L' and climbed to the top of the standings. That is a pretty busy week in all and they still had Ferguson and Longwell on Monday Night. Speaking of busy, there was a QB drafted in the 1st round and he has been busy throwing TD's ever since. He threw 5 this week and would have beaten the Revenge all by himself. Pennington and James did well for the Revenge in the losing effort. The Body Shop and a 25 point lead were too much for the Sharks and Javon Walker to overcome on Monday Night. The Shop notched it's first "W" mainly because the refuse the "not so sage" advice offered in this publication and stuck with Marc Bulger. Each Shop Back found the end zone once, but the wideouts threw up 0's as they snatched their first 'W' of the year. The Sharks got nice points from Manning but got nothing out of the other skill positions on Sunday. The Dream Team, Mason and a 3 point lead could not hold off the Beans, Favre and Driver. Tomlinson and Barber had nice games for the Beans. Leftwich put up decent numbers for the Dream team in the loss. Given what Trent has been doing, maybe Byron is putting in his claim on the starting job. I was nice to see Deuce score finally, but it would have been better to have a pair of Deuces instead of just one. Favre gave the Beans the lead. Mason took it back. Then Driver took the lead back for the Beans and they kept it. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Quiet Storm and the Bull Dogs. The Quiet Storm, Green, Bennett and a 47 point lead were too much for the Bull Dogs, Chris Brown and Gary Anderson. The Storm had a nice lead at 8:00 on Sunday, but the RAVENS ran it up on Sunday night. Andre Johnson also put up good numbers for the Storm. The Bull Dogs got a nice game out of Moss, but that was about it. Chris Brown and Gary Anderson actually got the Bull Dogs within 4. Brown dropped back below 150 on his last carry and Bennett made like McNair and put the final nail in the Dogs coffin. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
