Well we have reached the end of another season. Congratulations from the Commissioner's Office to the Jelly Beans on their first Championship. Congratulations to all the other Elite Teams as well. We have a slight change of plans for the settle-up party. The Pro-Bowl is on Valentine's Day weekend, therefore we are going to have to move the Settle-up party back a week. So the Settle-up part will be on the 20th at the Maggie O'Neil's. I will e-mail more details when I get them.   That little post-draft analysis I did at the beginning of the year picked only one Elite team. The analysis accuracy falls to 43% having picked 19 of 44 Elite teams in the last 11 years. OK, so maybe I should just flip coins at the beginning of the year.

  Because I have some space I will give out some fantasy awards: 2004 MVP: Terell Owens (Alexander, Barber and Manning could have easily gone here), Bust of the year: Clinton Portis (many first rounders did not wind up as top 10 though, runner-ups include: Holmes, McAllister, Harrison, Moss, etc.), Surprise of the Year: Mushin Muhammed (runner-up: Drew Bennett), Most disappointing NFL Team (from a fantasy perspective): RESKINS, Most dominate NFL Team: COLTS, The Man is an Island: Tiki Barber.

  Spock was 2/5 this week, making him 37/80 (46%) on the season. Norm was 1/5 on the week, making him 40/80 (50%) on the season. Norm wins the "Battle of the Oddsmakers", which is odd because usually the Dream Team finishes in the Elite when Norm wins this competition.

  The Black Revenge avenged their early season loss to the M. Takers. The Revenge were led by Jamal Lewis and the FALCONS. The Takers were led by Elam in the losing effort. The Revenge just missed out on the final Elite spot. The Takers finished off the season with a 6 game losing streak. By the way, Bubba I think we won that draft-day bet in any manner you would like to measure it.

  The Quiet Storm avenged their early season loss to the Sharks. The Storm was led by Thomas Jones and the RAVENS. The Sharks were led by Dillon who was the only Shark starter to reach double digits. The Sharks 4 game losing streak at the end cost them a Elite spot.

  The Black & Blue Attack completed the season sweep of the Dream Team. With the 'W' the Attack maintained their hold on 2nd place. The Attack was led by the JETS special teams. Interestingly, 9 weeks ago I wrote about how my decision to start Leftwich over Trent Green cost us the game against the Black & Blue Attack. This week I talked Norm into benching McAllister for Pittman. The McAllister mistake cost us the 'W', a Elite spot and the week 17 helmet. I don't even want to think about what the combined mistakes stopped us from achieving in 2004. I may not be able to make any lineup decisions for the whole 2005 season.

  The Bulldogs avenged their early season loss to the Good Fellas. At the beginning of the week it looked like the loser of this game might be out of the Elite. Fortunately for the Good Fellas, they managed to hang on to 4th place even with the loss. The Bull Dogs were led by Jake Delhomme and 24 points out of their WR's. The Fellas were led by Stover in the losing effort. The 4th place finish has to be disappointing for the defending Champs. The Dogs finish in 3rd and are wishing the Dream Team had played McAllister.

  The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Jelly Beans and the Body Shop. The Body Shop wound up sweeping this year's Champions. A morale victory maybe, but the Shop also scored a split of the Week 17 Consolation prize which is a bit more tangible. The Body Shop was led by Marc Bulger and Dominick Davis. The Jelly Beans were led by Plummer in the losing effort. The Jelly Beans limped over the finish line with the week 17 loss, but they still crossed the finish line in first. The Jelly Beans have waited a long time to get their names etched on the trophy, but it was finally their turn. I'd like to offer one final 'Congratulations' message to the Jelly Beans on their fine season. In the year when Boston finally brings home a Series win, it seems appropriate. But like the Red Sox, how do the Beans handle the transition from the annual 'Sentimental Favorite' to defending Champion. I guess we will see next year.
