![]() Half the Money teams lost again. This should be good news for all of us out of the Money. Last week must have opened the floodgates, as we had another trade this week. For some reason the BYES seem particularly harsh and the free-agent market has beem weak this year and maybe that has stoked the Trading fires. There are still BYES, so check the schedule before calling/mailing in your line-up. If you would still like the Notes mailed to you let me know and I will start mailing them out to you. It is cheaper and also much quicker to go electronic. The league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com . Key Matchups to watch this Week The Black Revenge and Bull Dogs meet in another game that may decide which team will be battling for the basement. The Revenge won a nail-biter in week 1. The Black & Blue and Quiet Storm meet in a contest between teams that have spent most of the season in the Money, though recent times have been tough (only 2 wins between them in last 3 weeks). The Beans will try to complete the season sweep against the Dream Team. The week 1 contest between brothers was close, since then the Beans fortunes have been much better than the Dream Team's. The Good Fella's were hot until this week and will try to rekindle against the Sharks. The Fellas are battling for the Championship while the Sharks struggle to escape the basement. The League-leading Money Takers meet the Body Shop in a contest between Money teams and re-match of the "Bubble" bowl. In week 1 the "Purple" bubble destroyed the Horseshoe "Bubble". Maybe I should stop referring to them as "bubble" teams, after all they have other players, kind of, sort of - well, Hines Ward is good. Norm was 2/5 making him 19/40 (48%) on the season. He retains top billing (actually my guesses at his picks). Spock was 2/5 this week making him 17/40 (43%) on the season. His locks are below: BR -1 BD (95) GF -11 S(103)QS -2 BB(108) MT -6 BS (90) JB -4 DT(100) Three games were officially over on Sunday. The other 2 were still up in the air. The Black Revenge carried a 1 point lead into Sunday Night against the Money Takers. The problem was that the Revenge was done and the Takers still had Culpepper, Moss and the VIKINGS. Needless to say the one point lead did not hold up. For the Takers, Sea-Bass chipped in "double-digit" points and the RB's even managed to break double-digits (combined). The Revenge sat a couple double-digit scoring receivers on the Bench. That could have made this game more entertaining. |
The Jelly Beans scored a "Helmet" and a big "W" over the Black & Blue Attack. Collins and Holt led the Beans. How bad is it when Donovan faces the worse pass defense in the league and can't make it back to the starting lineup. Well it is that bad, because even against the worst pass defense, Donovan did not exactly put up numbers that shouted "START ME". The Attack has lost 2 in a row now. In a contest that seemed to be more of comedy of errors, the Body Shop defeated the Dream Team. The Dream Team was missing a large portion of their team in terms of quantity and quality. The Shop hit the Free Agent market hard and wound up benching more points than they picked up (I think Shipp will be good). The 30-25 score makes this game sound much more interesting than it actually was. The Sharks and a 1 point lead were not enough for the Sharks against the Bull Dogs and the PATRIOTS. Although the PATS had a 0 up until the next to last play of the game. The Dogs running game carried the day, as the QB came up small. The Sharks miniscule 6 points form QB and PK also helped. Mack keeps getting the scores and the A-Train is back, but both were benched. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Quiet Storm and the Good Fellas. The Storm and Portis barely overcome a 12 point lead. The Fellas lost a 4 game winning streak, while the Storm has snapped a two game losing streak. The Fella's "Favre to Green" Bubble just may be the Bubble that beats all, even if it came up short this week. Deuce chipped in his usual yardage bonus as well. For the Storm, Hassleback has cooled a bit and Davis keeps getting the yardage but not really seeing the endzone. I am sure Storm HQ, will get to the bottom of all this.
