NORM'S LINES FORMAT - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

Week 6 found all the Elite Teams squaring off against each other. This was a good news/bad news scenario to the rest of us. The good news: they all couldn't win. The Bad News: they all couldn't lose. It is easier typing these things with that big Dream Team Helmet staring back at me. There are still BYES, so check the schedule before calling/mailing in your line-up.

If you would still like the Notes mailed to you let me know and I will start mailing them out to you. It is cheaper and also much quicker to go electronic. The league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com .

Key Matchups to watch this Week

The Black Revenge and Sharks meet up in week 7. The Revenge has lost 2 in a row and went from the doorstep to the Elite to the doorstep to the cellar. The Sharks are looking to get out of the cellar. The Body Shop is clinging to that Elite slot, this week they get the Bull Dogs. The Shop loses their first 3 picks to the dreaded BYE. The Dogs need the "W" after the heart breaking loss on Monday. The Dream Team and Black & Blue meet in a match between teams that have held the trophy 5 out of the last 6 years. The Attack is on pace to vie for another year with the trophy. The Dream Team has gotten of to a slow start, but they showed some life with a helmet in Week 6. The Good Fellas and Jelly Beans meet in a family affair. The youngsters have been hot lately, but the cagey old Veterans may have something up their sleeve(like that Monday night finish). The final game is a contest between two Elite Teams. The Storm's running game meets the M. Takers "Purple Bubble".

Norm was 5/5 making him 12/25 (48%) on the season. He regains top billing (although his lines were guestimated). Spock was 2/5 this week making him 11/25 (44%) on the season. His locks are below:

BR  -1  S (93)     GF -5 JB (99)
BS -10 BD (94)     QS -4 MT (96)
BB -10 DT(114)

One game was officially over on Sunday. Three others were pretty much over and the last one was still up in the air.

The Dream Team snapped a 3 game loosing streak against the Sharks. The Dream Team was led by an other-worldly game by Mason. They managed to put up 81 points even though their QB put up a 0, also this was the first week the faced less than 55 points. The Sharks running game abandoned them this week, and they no one can figure out what is going on with Gannon.

The Black & Blue Attack, Bulger and a 13-point lead were too much for the M. Takers and Peerless Price. The Takers had a less than Elite-team lineup as their bubble was on the buy and they were forced to start Kordell Stewart. On a positive note for the Takers, they managed their first RB points. The Black & blue got a little here and a little there, and that was more than enough for the Taker's B-Team. McNair has outscored the Attack in 5 of 6 games, what does a guy have to do to break the starting lineup, throw up a 39 spot (like he did this week)?

The Good Fellas and a 17-point lead were too much for the Black revenge and Dunn. The Fellas got 23 out of their running game, double digits from their QB and PK. That is enough to keep them in most games. Don't look now but the Fellas lead the league in scoring. The Revenge spoiled a great 28 out of the Miami defense as only the PK chipped in some points.

The Body Shop and Quiet Storm met in what became a battle for first place. The difference wound up being ST's as the RAVENS scored twice and put the Shop's dreams to bed. The Shop still had Duckett on Monday. The Shop's double-bubble returned to Earth and the Storm increased their first place lead from a points lead to a 1 game lead.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Bull Dogs and the Jelly Beans. You may ask, why this game when there were two games involving all four Elite teams. There was just a whole lot of Monday Night Madness in this game and even though it was a low scoring affair, the Monday Night Madness came out on top. The Beans phoned in some last minute changes that cost them 9 points. They went into Monday night down by 9 points. Holt, Bruce and Feely just barely make up those 9 points against Gordon and Wilkins. The Dogs made some questionable calls as well. The Dogs have been plugging W. Green in there every week, and he finally showed signs of life last week but the Dogs pulled the plug on W-Green this week when he scores and puts up some yards. I can't explain benching the CHIEFS in favor of the EAGLES. The Beans move on to .500 and a game out of the Elite.
