![]() This week finds the last undefeated team going down. I would say the standings have this beautiful symmetry to them (4 3-1 teams, 2 2-2 teams, 4 1-3 teams), if I weren't one of the 1-3 teams. The "Early Double-Bubble" Teams must have taken offense to my comments last week as they came out and bubbled up the scoreboard (technically the Takers used a sub in their double-bubble, but Frerotte instead of Culpepper, it is all the same). ERATTA: The stats program I use changed their shutout scoring definition and the DOLPHINS, were incorrectly awarded a shutout in week 3 The box scores and stats have been corrected. I have also fixed the stats definition so this should not happen again. If you would still like the Notes mailed to you let me know and I will start mailing them out to you. It is cheaper and also much quicker to go electronic. The league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com . Key Matchups to watch this Week The Jelly Beans take on the Black Revenge. The Beans are wondering when Donovan will score some points. The Revenge took out Norm this week, and are looking forward to taking out his big brother next week. The Good Fellas and Bull Dogs meet up in a battle between ex-partners. The Fellas are still reeling from that explosion by the Shop. The Dogs knocked off the undefeated team and have to avoid the old letdown. The Sharks came oh so close to unseating the 2nd place team this week. Next week they get to go up against the new second place team the Quiet Storm. The Storm has been slowing down after a meteoric start. The Body Shop and Black & Blue Attack meet up in a battle of 3-1 teams. There will be at least 1 4-1 team, bad news for all the 1-3 teams. The only remnants of Football Central meet up for the first time this year. The M. Takers will try to keep pace with the top teams. The Dream Team has been putting up points, but getting the L's any way. Spock was 3/5 this week making him 7/15 (47%) on the season. His retains top billing. Norm was 1/5 making him 5-15 (33%) on the season. His lines are below: JB -2 BR (94) BB -4 BS (96)GF -3 BD (98) DT -7 MT(100) S -1 QS (99) Three games were officially over on Sunday. The other 2 were pretty much over. The Black Revenge defeated the Dream Team. The Dream Team actually came out of the 1:00 games looking like the likely winner, but then LT-2 threw a TD, then he ran one in from 55 yards out, then he started looking at the rushing record. At any rate he pretty much carried the Revenge to victory. |
The Bull Dogs beat the undefeated Quiet Storm. The Storm was missing their number 1 pick, and their best QB so far this year. The Dogs took advantage getting nice scoring from various places. The CHIEFS led the Dogs for the 2nd straight week and are making a serious bid for 15th rounder of the year. I guess with the new defensive scoring system in place, everybody forgot to pick up the team with the best kick returnner in the league. The Body Shop's Double-Bubble finally clicked on all cylinders as Manning put up a 51 and Harrison put up a 36. Hambrick even put up a surprising 21 as the Shop trounced the Good Fellas. The Fellas still had Favre and Green on Monday, but an 83 point lead is pretty much golden (even against the Favre of old). I have to admit the Fellas put up a game effort. The M. Takers subbed the QB in their early Double-Bubble combo, but got some pretty good results too. Frerotte to Moss was good for 63 points. The Beans got zip form McNabb and were pretty much give last rights at 4:00. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between Black & Blue and the Sharks. It was the closest contest of the week and involved the 2nd place team at the time. The Sharks got a 0 from Henry before the game started. The Sharks management was probably out doing something fun, instead of sitting in front of the TV, awaiting ever little word from Chris Mortenson. Bulger, Lewis and the TITANS built up a nice little lead for the Attack, who thought they were through with the number one pick out and Gannon forgetting how to score early this season, and T.O. in funk. Gannon remembered how to score in week 4 and he almost brought the Sharks all the way back for the "W". Now that the Sharks just have to get T.O. back on track.
