SPOCK'S LOCKS FORMAT - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

This week finds only one undefeated team. As a result, the rest of the league is either 2-1 or 1-2. It's beginning to look like this year will be dogfight all year. There are BYES this week, so check the schedule, before calling/e-mailing your line-up in to me. Unfortunately we have the 2 lowest scoring teams in the league in the Elite. We can not have this.

If you would still like the Notes mailed to you let me know and I will start mailing them out. However, give me a call, I think we can avoid the postage, one way or another, if not I will mail you a copy of the notes. It is cheaper and also much quicker to go electronic. The league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com .

Key Matchups to watch this Week

The Black Revenge and Dream Team will each try to get back on the winning track. Neither team wants to go to 1-3. The Quiet Storm takes on the Bull Dogs. The Storm tries to keep their undefeated season alive, while the Dogs just got rid of that winless tag. The Black & Blue meets the Sharks. The Attack will try to pace the Storm waiting for that fatal mistake. The Sharks are waiting for the real Gannon and Owens to show. The Body Shop and the Good Fellas meet in week 4. The Shop is wondering what happened to Harrison. The Good Fellas can't wait for Vick's return. The M. Takers meet the Jelly Beans, with both teams doing some searching. The Beans are searching for their first McNabb points. The Takers are searching for their first RB points.

Spock was 3/5 this week making him 4/10 (40%) on the season. His gains top billing. Norm was 1/5 making him 4-5 (40%) on the season. His lines are below:

DT -6 BR (94)     GF -4 BS (90)
BD -3 QS (90)     JB -3 MT (91)
 S -2 BB (94)

Only 1 game was over on Sunday. The other 4 were still up in the air and 3 of them looked like there would be a lead change on Monday. Picking the "GOW" was tough this week, with so much Monday night madness. Nine (out of a possible 12) players were started in the Monday night game.

The Black & Blue Attack wins the first of the two annual Black Bowls against the Black Revenge. A monster running game led the Attack. All 3 RBs put up double digit scoring (does this sound familiar). The rest of the Attack only put up single digits, but the whole lineup put up points. The Revenge ran into some bad blood with the scheduling Gods as no other team would have beat them this week. Sometimes it is not so good to be the "Al Davis" of the league.

The Bull Dogs, Plummer, Garner and Elam easily overcame an eight-point lead by the Dream Team. The Dream Team may be leaning too hard on Priest Holmes, as he was the only one to score for the Dream Team, besides the PK and ST. The CHIEFS special teams and Plummer led the Dogs. The CHIEFS are outscoring the Dogs WR, even if we use last year's scoring system. Gordon for Faulk this week, improvement??

The Quiet Storm, Portis and an 18 point lead were too much for the Jelly Beans, Rod Smith and Rice. The Storm put up human-type numbers this week, but they still have a firm drip on that top spot. Hassleback, the RAVENS and Vanderjagt (weren't they thinking of cutting him in pre-season). The Beans basically had Kerry Collins out there alone this week.

The M. Takers, Janikowski (fresh from a bar-brawl) and McCaffrey overcame a 5-point lead by the Good Fellas. Moss has disappeared after a bug week 1 and Culpepper didn't play in the 2nd half. The Fellas only got spotty scoring as they had far too many 0's on their scorecard to win.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Body Shop and the Sharks. The Sharks and Gannon could not overcome a 10 pt. lead by the Shop. Why is this the "GOW"? Simply put it was the hardest game for me to predict the outcome on Monday afternoon, when I was typing this. I usually call the up in the air games own way or another, and then fix what ever mistakes I made. This game was almost to close to call. The Shop's double bubble was only hitting on one cog this week. You know the "draft a top WR once all the stud RBs are gone" strategy is starting to look dubious. The Shop's running game is coming back to life. The Sharks have to be wondering what is going on with Gannon.

CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
Dream Team (Norm): "As bad as it is for the Dream Team being 1-2, we still have one more win than the Eagles."
