![]() This week finds only one undefeated team and only one team with no wins yet. We are sure taking care of the lossless/winless issue quickly this year. As a result, there are 8 teams at 1-1 and tied for 2nd. Also this week's MVP performance is probably worthy of some special award (best week of the year). Rushing for almost 300 yards with 2 12 point TDs is impressive enough, but Jamal Lewis actually predicted it. Now that is the kind of parity the NFL wants. Give me a call, I think we can avoid the postage, one way or another, if not I will mail you a copy of the notes. It is cheaper and also much quicker to go electronic. The league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com . Key Matchups to watch this Week Norm wins the first week of the battle of the oddsmakers going 3-5 (60%) and his Lines appear above. Spock was 1-5 (20%). Spock's Locks for Week 3 are: BR -2 QS (98) JB -1 BS (93)BB -6 BD (84) S -4 MT (86) DT -8 GF (92) All 5 games were over by Sunday night. The only players going on Monday had already won their SWFFL game. In fact, the only thing still up in the air was the helmet. The Quiet Storm continued their "winning big" ways with their second straight helmet, and our first triple-digit score of the year. The Revenge was the victim this week. The Storm had 5 players core 15 or better and was led by Hassleback at 26. The Revenge could have played a better line-up but they would still have come up short. I am sure the scheduling gods have tried to even things out, as the Revenge's first "W" was a bit on the weak side. Still you hate those weeks when you put up 60+ points and lose. |
The Dream Team beat the Good Fellas. The Dream Team was led by Priest Holmes (how many teams are regretting letting him drop to 5) and Bledsoe. The Dream Team put up 50+ points last week and lost, so this week they topped 90. The Fellas qho squeaked out one last week with 43, picked up an 'L' this week with 69 points. See comment about scheduling Gods above. The Fellas had a fine performance by Ahman Green go to waste. The Body Shop posted their first 'W' of the year against the Jelly Beans. The Shop even got some RB points this week. The Beans suffered their second consecutive goose-egg from McNabb. Buck-up Ron & Ronny, at least you're highly drafted QB is not being benched by his head coach . . . yet. Maybe we should all be grabbing A.J. Feely. The Sharks busted up the Purple Double-Bubble, aka the M. Takers. With a goose-egg at the QB slot, the Sharks managed to hold off a Sunday night charge (well sort of) by the Takers. The Takers are still looking for their first RB points (at least they got some bench RB points). Moulds, Henry and the SAINTS led the Sharks to their first 'W'. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black & Blue Attack and the Bull Dogs. There were no tight games, no Monday Night Madness, so why not give the honor to the game with the 55 point RB. Jamal Lewis rushed for 295 yards, including two 50+ yard TDs. That was pretty much the end for the Bull Dogs. The Dogs recently acquired Cardinals double-bubble popped. The Dogs did bench the EAGLES for the CHIEFS, which kept this game from being a massacre instead of just a blow-out. The Attack got a spattering of points from other places, but the 55 from Lewis was pretty much the reason they won. Never thought I'd see Bulger in there that quick.
