NORM'S LINES FORMAT - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

In week 14, the top teams kept on winning. For all intents and purposes there is a 5-team race for 4 Elite spots and the rest of us get to go for those consolation prizes.

If you would still like the Notes mailed to you let me know and I will start mailing them out to you. It is cheaper and also much quicker to go electronic. The league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com .

Key Matchups to watch this Week

The Black Revenge will try to avenge their early season loss to The Good Fellas. The Revenge was actually looking at a Elite Spot on Sunday night. The Fellas need to keep winning to keep that top spot. The Jelly Beans will try to complete the season sweep against the Bull Dogs. The Beans are have just broken a losing streak and still have a slim chance at the Elite. The Dogs have lost 3 in a row. The Quiet Storm will try to complete the season sweep of the Body Shop. The Storm needs to keep pace in case the Fellas stumble. The Shop wants to keep itself above that Elite Line (they were out for part of the weekend). The Dream Team will try to complete the season sweep of the Sharks, in another game that is pretty much just for pride (but you'd be surprised out hard someone will fight even if pride is all that is on the line). The Black & Blue Attack will try to compete the season sweep against an ex-partner in the M. Takers. The Takers are looking to improve their Elite position. The attack is the 6th horse in a 5 horse race, but they are not dead yet.

Norm (my guesses) was 4/5 making him 32/65 (49%) on the season. He regains top billing. Spock was 3/5 this week making him 32/65 (49%) on the season. His locks are below:

GF -9 BR(115)     DT -7  S(107)
JB -5 BD (93)     MT -4 BB(104)
QS -8 BS(104)

Three games were officially over Sunday. The other two were still very much up in the air.

The Quiet Storm completed the season sweep of the Sharks and maintained their position right behind the kids. Actually the Sharks were looking good and then Denver entered the second half and Portis broke off 2 20-point TD runs and another 10 pointer. On the day Portis had 5 TD runs and over 200 yards to smash the single day scoring record for one player with a 74.

The Black & Blue Attack avenged their early season loss to the Body Shop and stopped a 6 game losing streak that dragged the Black & Blue from first place to a position in the standings that is all but eliminated (2 games out with 3 to go). The Shop finds itself out in the cold for the first time since week 8. Interestingly enough the Shop topped the standings in Week 11 and they have not won since either. Perhaps that first place position carries a little venom along with the all the good stuff.

The M. Takers completed the sweep of the Dream Team by a mere 2 points. The "Purple" double bubble put up monster points in the 1:00 games, the Dream Team chipped away but came up just a little short in the 4:00 Games. How short, well if Trent Green passes for 3 more yards, the Takers lose, Or James rushes for 5 more yards. After Sundays play there were 3 teams that scored more than 800 points, 2 of them are at the top of the standings the other is 5-9 and hoping to grab some consolation prizes. Nice game Bubba. Sorry about the rant.

The Good Fellas and a 32 point lead were too much for the Bull Dogs, Faulk, James and Wilkins. The Fellas were led by Vick and Taylor in completing the sweep of the Dogs. Michael Vick sure looked good for his first start. Just what everybody needed, the Fellas get a new weapon to play with. The Dogs got a nice game out of Boldin in the loss.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black Revenge and the Jelly Beans. The Beans completes the season sweep as Bruce, Holt and the RAMS overcame the BROWNS and a 14 point lead. The Revenge was led by Tomlinson who had a very nice game, not "Portis nice", but nice. The Revenge was in the Elite up until Monday night's game. The Beans snapped a 4 game winning streak by the Revenge and also snapped a 4 game losing streak for themselves. McNabb who has finally decided to win some fantasy games as well as the real ones led the Beans. Interesting side note, Buddy Ryan was on the Angelo Cataldi show on Monday Night and he has Donovan on his Fantasy squad also.
