SPOCK'S LOCKS FORMAT - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

Finally a "W" for the Dream Team, so maybe these notes may be of higher quality then those of recent weeks. The Black & Blue Attack set a record that I doubt will ever be broken, by scoring 154 points this week. There are some teams off this week, so make sure you check. If you can live with the web version or if you want to try and receive these notes by e-mail, let me know. It is cheaper and also much quicker. The league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com .

Key Matchups to watch this Week

The M. Takers hope the Jelly Beans trend of facing the 'Helmet' team continues for at least one more week. I believe Uncle Ron has started looking for a Voo-Doo hex remover. There will be some uncomfortable moments in the Staley household this week as 'Dad' takes on 'Sons', and both teams need to win. Here is hoping 'Dad' gets an early installment on next year's Father's Day gift. The Body Shop will try to remain undefeated against the Bull Dogs this week. The Shop survived a poor QB decision in Week 4. The Dogs only loss was due to a poor QB decision in week 2. The Black Revenge and Sharks meet in battle with different goals this week. The Revenge is trying to make the big leap over the Elite Line. The Sharks are trying to avoid the basement. The Quiet Storm meets the Black & Blue Attack in a battle of Elite Teams. The Storm is hoping the Attack shot their load this week. The Attack is petitioning the league to carry over some of those excess points from week 4 (not much only a hundred or so).

Spock was 5/5 this week, making him 12/15(80%) on the season. He gains top billing. Norm was 1/5 on the week, making him 3/15 (20%) on the season. His lines appear below:

JB -1 MT (91)      S -3 BR (88)
DT -7 GF(101)     QS -4 BB (91)
BS -2 BD (94)

There were 3 games that were technically over by Sunday. One other game was more or less over. The final one was still very much up in the air.

The Body Shop remains undefeated by beating the Good Fellas who saw their number one pick break a finger. I guess now they can play that Brady fellow who has been lighting up the scoreboard. The Shop's QB situation was not much better as they benched that Bledsoe fellow who also continues to light up the scoreboard. Methinks the old "Vet" over-thunk that one a bit. The youngsters had nobody score in double-digits. The Shop had only 3 players score, but they all scored in double-digits. Quality over quantity, I guess. Both coaching efficiencies here failed to top 60 percent.

The Dream Team finally notched their first 'W' over a BYE-week ravaged Shark team. In this game neither QB managed to score (of course both of these QB's were bye-week plug-ins). The Dream Team was led by "Gonzo" who in most weeks might have had an MVP week. This was not most weeks. Jerry Rice broke the yards from scrimmage record and pulled the Sharks close late, but it was clearly a matter of too little, too late.

The Bull Dogs defeated the Black Revenge as a 43 point lead was too much for Portis to overcome on Monday Night. The Dogs had pretty balanced scoring up and down the lineup as no one player scored more than 20, but they combined for 62. The Revenge had some serious bench points, but still would have come up short with their best lineup.

The Quiet Storm remained undefeated by beating the M. Takers. The Storm and Griese overcame a 5 pt. lead, McCaffrey and Elam in what surely would have been the "GOW" in most weeks. This was not most weeks. The Storm was led by Griese and Holmes. The Takers were led by Culpepper and Williams. Hey, Bubba there is an awfully high number of Vikes on that squad. I thought you did not play this game with your heart.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between Black & Blue Attack and the Jelly Beans. The Beans have been hexed or something and if you don't believe take a gander at the helmet in the center. Beans' opponents are frequent occupants. This week it was a slam dunk as the Attack put up an incredible 154 points on the scoreboard crushing the old single-game scoring record. The Attack had a really good game from Gannon, but their "wishbone" did the real damage as Tomlinson and Alexander competed for MVP honors and both topped the 40 point mark. Taylor chipped in 16 points of his own too. In fact the Attack WR's put up goose-eggs. Who needs WR's when your RB's put up 100 points. This game had none of my normal "GOW" requirements, but how could I not make it the "GOW".

CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
Dream Team (Norm): "Rams 0-4, Kurt Warner down. Don't count us out yet. PS: Congratulations to the Black & Blue Attack."
Bull Dogs(John T.): "Hats off to the Black & Blue Attack for breaking my record."
