SPOCK'S LOCKS FORMAT - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

I have a couple of corrections for week 9. First I inadvertently credited the Good Fellas with a helmet in the Pre-game comments. Also the Elias Sports Bureau has changed a Brady to Faulk 45 yd TD to a Faulk 45 yd TD run (I saw the play and thought it should be a run to begin with). If I go back and change the scores, Brady loses a 9 point TD and a 300 yard bonus. Fortunately this does not affect the outcome of the game. I need a rule on what to do in these situations. I like to get it right. But I'd feel really strange about changing the outcome of a score a week later. Think about it. If you can live with the web version or if you want to try and receive these notes by e-mail, let me know. It is cheaper and also much quicker. The league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com .

Key Matchups to watch this Week

The Jelly Beans will try to avenge their week 2 loss to the Body Shop. The Week 2 matchup was a barn-burner that seemed to bede well for both teams. The Beans never got over the loss and the Shop has been in contention all year. The Revenge will try to complete the sweep of the Good Fellas. The Revenge is trying to climb back over that Elite Line. The Fellas after a little streak and the Elite Line sinking are actually only a couple games out even though they are still in the basement. The Black & Blue will try to sweep the Dream Team and hope the Beans knock off the Body Shop. The Dream Team, despite a 3 game losing streak is still not any farther out of the Elite. The M. Takers will try to avenge their week 2 loss to the Sharks and keep a hold on that last Elite spot. The Sharks are lurking and with some help could jump up into the Elite. The Quiet Storm will try to keep it a 3 team race for the trophy by sweeping the Bull Dogs. The Dogs sure would like to avenge that early 1 point loss.

Spock was 3/5 this week, making him 30/45 (67%) on the season and he retains top billing. Norm was 3/5 on the week, making him 17/45 (38%) on the season. His lines appear below:

JB -2 BS (94)      S -1 MT (90)
GF -3 BR (94)     QS -3 BD (97)
DT -6 BB(101)

There was 1 game that was technically over by Sunday. Three games were all but over. One other was sort of up in the air on Monday.

The Good Fellas avenged their week 1 loss to the Jelly Beans. The Fellas were led Brady and Ward and despite the big point total left a truck load of points on the bench as Bulger, Bruce and Vinatieri went off. The Beans were hurt by poor outings by the usually reliable duo of McNabb and Faulk.

The Body Shop stayed in the race for the Championship by putting up triple-digits against the Black Revenge (a lot more comfortable than last week). The Shop was led by the just acquired MVP of the week Tommy Maddox. Warrick Dunn put up a long run too. The Revenge suffered from QB-goose-eggus and first-rounder-goose-eggus as well.

The Bull Dogs completed the season sweep of the Dream Team. The Dream Team (and I take the blame for this one) over-analyzed and benched Manning vs. the EAGLES in favor of Collins vs. the VIKINGS. The mistake (luckily for me) was not the difference in the game. The Bull Dogs were happy to stop the bleeding and put up some points this week.

The Quiet Storm completed the season sweep of the Sharks as Griese, the RAIDERS and a 31 point lead were too much for the Sharks and Rice to overcome on Monday. The Storm got a 6, 7 or 8 out of every Sunday player but Burress who threw up a 36. The Sharks really only got production out of Harrison.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black & Blue Attack and the M. Takers. The Attack avenged their week 1 loss to the Takers as Gannon, Porter, the BRONOCS and a 13 point lead were too much for the Takers, McCaffrey and Elam. The Attack got balance scoring as every player on Sunday put up points. The Takers got all their Sunday points from Bennett. It is not often that a team goes up against a 20 point run and foes into Monday with a lead and their QB to come. Now that the VIKES have benched Daunte maybe the Takers will follow suit.

CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
Dream Team (Norm): "Dream Team playing like the Bengals. RAMS won't lose another game until pre-season of next year."
Bull Dogs (John T.): "Thanks for the change. With 4 wins on the season 2 are courtesy of the defending Champion Dream Team. How sweep it is!"
