![]() Week 8 finds another trade gone bad, remember when voting on a trade was just a formality. This week I sent out an e-mail detailing some changes I am implementing until the next meeting to deal with some situations that have come up during the last 2 trade attempts. A quick summary is: You can vote "No" to a trade for any reason at all, fear of collusion is not necessary nay more. Once I hear from both parties, the trade is considered a done deal as far as the parties involved are concerned. The voting process is not a time where someone can back out of a trade. If somebody trades you a guy who is getting benched or is injured and you didn't know all we can say is "Sorry and Remember". Please feel free to contact me if you have a problem with these temporary measures or with any other league functions. P.S.: My partner's tendency towards outspokenness is not a league function I have any control over :-^> . In case you lost it, the league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com, drop by, take a look at the archive. These notes are also available via e-mail if you have an e-mail account. The E-Mail notes get out sooner, get delivered faster and you avoid the dreaded stamp fee. Key Match-Ups to Watch this Week. Norm was 3/5 this week making him 14/25 (56%) on the season and he retains top billing. Spock was 2/5 this week making him 8/25 (32%) on the year and his locks appear below: MT -8 BD (90) DT -1 QS(105) There were 3 games that were over by Sunday night. The others were more or less over. The M. Takers defeated the Sharks on the strength of their 3rd straight weekly MVP performance and first helmet of the year. This week it was Dillon who grabbed the MVP. The Sharks even with the loss got some good news. Stephen Davis finally got his first points of the year. The Sharks had a major 25 point performance by Alstott sitting on the bench. |
The Quiet Storm defeated the Black Revenge in a battle of ex-partners. The Storm came out on top of this one as both teams put up big time numbers. The Revenge probably can lay the blame on Rich Gannon's goose-egg. The Storm finds itself alone in 2nd place with a chance of moving up this week. The Jelly Beans ended their losing streak against the Hammer Heads who had a streak of their own end. The Heads had scored 2 helmets in a row, but with only Bettis and a 37 point deficit on Monday night, that streak did not have a chance to survive. Griese and Horn led the Beans who were also happy to see another 6 out of Moss. The Bull Dogs defeated the Good Fellas this week. This game had a lot going on in it. There was the controversial Bruce-A-Train trade-no-trade. There was the battle of former partners. There was the Bull Dogs recent revival vs. the Good Fellas free-fall. The Good Fellas and the TITANS could not overcome a 15 point lead on Monday night. Incidentally, the players in the aborted trade had 31 points between them. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Dream Team and the Black 7 Blue Attack. It wasn't the closest game of the week, but it did involve 2 elite teams. The Dream was led by Warner and Rod Smith while the Black & Blue was led by Manning and Carney. The Dream Team recovered from their first loss of the year, while the Black and Blue has now lost 2 in a row and has gone from battling for a tie for first place to barely holding on to the final elite spot.
