![]() Week 4 (more about this later) finds only 2 undefeated teams left. There are still 2 winless teams as well. The NFL has decides to throw Week 2's schedule at the end of the season. I have done that also. This means that the bye weeks and matchups are still maintained (if you were going to face so and so without there stud QB because of a bye, you still will). So that is all fine, but the NFL has decided to relabel every week so what was week 3 is now week 2, week 4 becomes week 3,etc. I have kept the old week numbering system to keep our schedule (in the back if the rules) as correct as possible. It is getting a bit confusing having our week number different than the NFL's. So should we adopt the NFL' week numbering system for this year? Let me know what you think. In case you lost it, the league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com, drop by, take a look at the archive or post a message on our "Interactive Chatterbox". Key Match-Ups to Watch this Week. Spock was 3/5 (60%) in the first week of the competition, and he retains top billing. Norm was 2/5 (40%) and his lines appear below: MT -2 QS (92) DT -8 S(104) There were 4 games that were technically over by Sunday night. The other was more or less over. The M. Takers notched their first win against the Hammer Heads. The Takers still had Garcia in reserve. The Takers were led by Faulk and Old-man Rice. Jerry will probably still be a quality #3 WR when he is 60. The Hammer Heads got a nice game out of Culpepper but he did not get enough support. |
The Good Fellas continued their winning ways against the Jelly Beans. The youngsters overcame a coaching error on special teams and were led by McNabb and Akers. The Beans got a disappointing game out of Griese and are still looking for Moss' first point of the year. Glad he was off the board by 4th pick. The thing is, as soon as you show him the bench, he will go off and then you kick yourself for benching him. The Black & Blue Attack beat the Sharks with Owens and Barlow in their back pockets. The Attack was led by Manning and Longwell. The Attack has won 2 in a row after that little bump in week 1. The Sharks also suffered from a nice QB performance w/o the supporting cast. Although the Shark management can't be blamed trying, as Buckhalter provided an instant impact. The Storm won against the Bull Dogs, as 20 pts. was too much for the Chrebet to overcome on Monday night. The Storm is winning in Bull Dog style too with a 2-1 record and the lowest point total in the league. Guess they are junking the score loads of points but finish in 2nd for the Bull Dogs of 99 strategy. The Dogs of 2001 had a bad week after an encouraging week last week. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the match between the Dream Team and Black Revenge. The 1999 Champs and 2000 Champs matched up with 1st place on the line. It was a slugfest that had me asking Norm (of all people) to look up yardage totals on his computer. The Dream Team built up a large lead early with Warner. Gannon slowly melted that away and then went ahead. Tomlinson exploded in the 2nd half of his game. Came down to yardage bonuses. Rod Smith came up short, but Darrel Jackson didn't. Stacey Mack came up short on both the 100 yards rushing and the Marshall Faulk bonus. It was an exciting game with a lot on the line, even though it lacked Monday Night Madness.
