![]() Week 14 finds another 2nd place team taking the tumble out of the 2nd spot. One team is so hot, we may have to get the fire department involved. There are some Saturday games this week so make sure you check the NFL schedule. Better yet just submit a preliminary lineup on-line and then make changes as you need to. In case you lost it, the league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com, drop by, take a look at the archive. These notes are also available via e-mail if you have an e-mail account. Spock was 4/5 this week making him 23/55 (42%) on the year and he retains top billing. Norm was 3/5 this week making him 29/55 (53%) on the season and his lines appear below: BB -2 MT (94) HH -2 BR (92) There were 2 games where the outcome was determined on Sunday. The other 3 were all but over as well. The M. Takers completed the season sweep of the Quiet Storm and moved up into 2nd place (a spot that has not been too lucky lately). The Takers were led by a nice 1-2 punch at running back and an efficient 100% coaching efficiency. The Storm missed 9 extra points out of Trent Green. A Green start would had us going to tie-breakers and the Storm would have lost on tie-breaks by 1. |
The Dream Team completed the season sweep of the Sharks with Lamar Smith and Chambers to spare on Monday. Neither team got what they were expecting from the QB spot. The Sharks running game was good, but their WR's and PK came up small. The Dream Team steady performers like Rod Smith and Tomlinson threw goose eggs. The "W" can gloss over all kinds of coaching mistakes. The Hammer Heads avenged their week 5 loss to the Bull Dogs and won the battle to stay out of the basement. The Heads were led by first time starter MVP Todd Bouman with 39 points. 39 points in one start and 57 in 5 quarters, Dante who? The Bull Dogs benched a truck load of points. The Charger double-bubble instead of the Patriot double-bubble alone would have made this game interesting on Monday. The Jelly Beans avenged their week 5 loss to the Black Revenge. The Beans are "enfuego" (to borrow a phrase from Dan Patrick). They have won 7 in arrow since their 1-5 start. They have scored at least 50 during the stretch and have won 3 of the last 7 helmets including this week. This Holmes and Moss covered a mediocre QB performance. The Revenge have given up over 80 in each of the last 3 games and have faced the "Helmet" in all 3 weeks. You need an all-star team to win against odds like that. Throw in the loss when scoring over 100 and methinks the Death Valley patrons have failed to pay due homage to the scheduling Gods. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black & Blue Attack and the Good Fellas. The Good Fellas split the season series with a win over the Black & Blue, as Manning could not overcome a 31pt. lead. The Fellas were led by a balanced scoring attack as every starter scored a 6 or a 12 except for their ST. The Black & Blue lost their 2nd place spot, which seems to be a very slippery position this year. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
