![]() Week 13 finds the rift between the haves and have nots growing. The bottom 3 teams have been all but eliminated from championship contention and the Elite slots are starting to slip away too. The battle for the top spot could have been more interesting, but much to the angst of the rest of the league the Dream Team still is 2 games up on the contenders. In case you lost it, the league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com, drop by, take a look at the archive. These notes are also available via e-mail if you have an e-mail account. Spock was 3/5 this week making him 19/50 (38%) on the year and he regains top billing. Norm was 2/5 this week making him 26/50 (52%) on the season and his lines appear below: QS -1 MT (94) DT -7 S (107) There was only 1 game where the final outcome was determined on Sunday. None of the final scores were set, as every game had at least 1 Monday player. The Quiet Storm completed the sweep of the Bulldogs with Jimmy Smith on Monday to spare. The Storm ended a 4 game losing streak and just in time too as another loss could have been the end. The Storm was led by Brooks and Kevin Johnson (the K Johnson who actually scores TDs). The Bulldogs had a bad week as only their PK and Ricky Williams managed to put up points. |
The M. Takers completed the season sweep of the Hammer Heads as Freeman could not overcome a 61 point lead on Monday night. The Takers were led by Faulk. The Heads were disappointed by VIKING double bubble. The Takers are still very much alive for the championship. The Heads still have an outside shot at a Elite spot, but they need Culppepper to get better (in both meanings of the word - healthy and productive). The Jelly Beans revived the "Maggie's" curse and split the season series against the Good Fellas as Ahman Green and a 29 pt. lead were too much for Keenan McCardell. The Beans are red-hot as they have won 6 in a row and have clawed their way into a Elite spot. Moss has woken up, now if they could get Griese going again, they could make a run of historic proportions. The Dream Team completed the season sweep against the Black Revenge as Schroeder could not overcome a 30 pt. lead. The Dream Team was led by Mason and Warner. The Revenge has scored over 60 in the last 4 weeks and has lost 3 of them including the triple digit loss. They are 1-5 in games where they score over 60. Shades of 1999. Finally, Yes Toast, that is a first place lineup. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black & Blue Attack and the Sharks. The Sharks and Favre were barely unable to surpass the Attack and a 44 pt. lead. The Attack completed the sweep and tossed the Sharks right out of the Elite. The Sharks low point total led to the second to fifth drop. The Attack got double digit scoring out of 4 players. The Sharks RBs came up small. The Sharks are not out of it by any means, but the low point total will handicap them in the final run, which begins next week against the much-despised Dream Team.
