![]() Week 12 finds the race for the top spot getting closer. The Dream Team has been slipping lately and the Championship is becoming more than a pipe dream for other teams. There is a game this Thursday, so do not forget to get your early starters in to me by then. One final note, the Commissioners' office and the whole SWFFL send its condolences to John T. on the loss of his mother last week. In case you lost it, the league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com, drop by, take a look at the archive. These notes are also available via e-mail if you have an e-mail account. The E-Mail notes get out sooner, get delivered faster and you avoid the dreaded stamp fee. Key Match-Ups to Watch this Week. Spock was 3/5 this week making him 16/45 (36%) on the year and he regains top billing. Norm was 1/5 this week making him 24/45 (53%) on the season and his lines appear below: HH -3 MT (94) BB -3 S (91) There were 2 games that were technically over. The rest of the games were up in the air. The Jelly Beans swept the Quiet Storm in 2001. The Beans were led by a fine performance by Ahman Green. It is always nice when one of your draft picks performs. If the Beans could get the head case going consistently they might run the table. The have won 5 in a row with only sporadic performance from 84. The Storm has lost 4 in a row and are in dire straits. |
The Good Fellas finally ended their losing streak against the Hammer Heads. It took a really poor performance by the VIKINGS to do it, but the Heads VIKING double-bubble tossed a goose egg. The Fellas seem to think the streak has something to do with Brian's work schedule on Sundays. Apparently he had off the first 3 weeks and this week. He was working on Sundays throughout the streak. I don't buy it. The Sharks, Alstott and a 23 point lead were too much for the Black Revenge, Dunn and Holt to overcome on Monday night. The Sharks were led by a strong WR performance out of Brown and Moulds. The Revenge put up decent points but the Sharks were just too much. The Sharks are now sniffing the trophy (that stale beer smell is horrible isn't it). The M. Takers, Faulk, BUCANEERS and a 12 pt. lead held off the Dream Team and Warner on Monday night and avoided the season sweep. The Takers were led by Garcia and Elam. The Dream Team were plagued by too many points on the bench and not enough in the starting lineup. The Dream Team is slowly losing it's buffer and now not only is the Championship in question. If they don't return to early season form an Elite position could be in question. It just may be time to panic. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Bull Dogs and the Black & Blue Attack. The Bull Dogs, Bruce and Gramatica were unable to overcome an 11 point lead against the Black & Blue Attack on Monday night and the Attack completed the sweep. The Black and Blue took a 0 at RB, but got good points production elsewhere. The Dogs were led by Flutie and Rhodes. A Monday night come from behind victory would have been easy for the Dogs with Brady in the lineup. The Black & Blue is back in the elite again after a short stay out in the cold.
