![]() Week 11 finds mixed results for Elite teams as a VIKING outburst on Monday night causes a total rewrite of the notes. We are now past the mid-way point so it would be a good time to rally the troops for the late season run. By the way, this week marks our first successful trade. It was successful mainly because Bruce was not involved. There are two games this Thursday, so check your lineups before Thanksgiving dinner. In case you lost it, the league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com, drop by, take a look at the archive. These notes are also available via e-mail if you have an e-mail account. The E-Mail notes get out sooner, get delivered faster and you avoid the dreaded stamp fee. Key Match-Ups to Watch this Week. Norm was 5/5 this week making him 23/40 (58%) on the season and he retains top billing. Spock was 2/5 this week making him 13/40 (33%) on the year and his locks appear below: MT -1 DT(109) BR -4 S (98) There were 2 games that were technically over. The rest of the games were up in the air and in fact two were decided on Monday night. The Dream Team defeated the Good Fellas, who have lost 7 in a row. The Dream Team was led by Warner, and maintained their 2 game lead on the pack. The Good Fellas were led by David Akers in the losing effort. The Fellas enjoyed the great output by their kicker, but they like most of us Eagles fans would have rather seen a few more extra points instead (in Good Fellas case following McNabb TD's). |
The Black Revenge defeated the Bull Dogs and are on the Elite door step again. The Revenge was led by Gannon. The Revenge (self-pronounced RAIDER fans) lost last week because of a RAIDER TD to the Black & Blue. This week the Revenge and Gannon handed an "L" to another RAIDER-ite. The Bull Dogs finally completed a trade. It cost them the "W" though. Rhodes had a 5, but Booker would have won the game for them. The Sharks, Toomer and 12 pt. lead were too much for the Storm and Dayne to overcome. The Sharks had nice games out of Favre and Vandy, and a few others chipped in. The Storm got a nice day out of Brooks but had far too many zeros in the box score at other positions, also despite Brooks' play a Plummer start would have made the difference in the game. The Black & Blue Attacks' 36 point lead was not enough to hold off the Hammer Heads, Culpepper and Carter. The Attack was led by Manning, Boston and Carney. The Heads had a banner day out of the EAGLES, and for last night anyway the VIKINGS looked like the 2000 version that could occasionally pull out a game like this. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Money Takers and Jelly Beans. The Jelly Beans and Moss overcame a 25 point deficit on Monday night. Moss has not played like a high draft pick for most of the year, but last night he proved his worth. Only the Rice of old could be counted on making up that big a deficit. The Beans had a good day out of Conway, but the scoring was sparse outside of the WR position. The Takers got 24 out of Rice and Garcia (re-united on the Taker lineup if not in San Fran). The Takers had players on the bench with a load of bench points including a player they traded for and a Monday night kicker. Always start Monday night kickers, an unwritten SWFFL rule.
