![]() Week 10 finds a record breaking game on the schedule. More about that in the GOW section. The Dream Team tripped up and all but a couple of teams are within 3 games of the championship. A Elite spot is not out of the question for any team. Conversely, nobody has a lock on anything. I have not heard anything on the temporary trade rules. If you have any misgivings about the temporary rules, let me know. In case you lost it, the league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com, drop by, take a look at the archive. These notes are also available via e-mail if you have an e-mail account. The E-Mail notes get out sooner, get delivered faster and you avoid the dreaded stamp fee. Key Match-Ups to Watch this Week. Norm was 2/5 this week making him 18/35 (51%) on the season and he retains top billing. Spock was 1/5 this week making him 11/35 (31%) on the year and his locks appear below: MT -5 JB (95) QS -3 S (83) There were 2 games that were technically over. One game was more or les over. The other 2 were still undecided. The Jelly Beans exacted a little revenge for the Dream Team's week 1 (86-80) victory. The Beans shutdown Warner (holding him to 6 is shutting him down) and also pretty much kept the rest of the Dream team off the board. Late TD's by Horn, Conway and Moss put the game out of reach for the Dream Team. The Dream Team had tons of bench points and one wonders whether it is time to stop mailing in the top of the lineup. |
The Sharks completed the season sweep of the Bull Dogs. The Sharks were led by Favre, the only guy in either lineup to break double digits. The Bull Dogs winning streak was halted at 3 and the Sharks have won 4 out of the last 5. The Bull Dogs went away from usual starts of Flutie and the RAMS who both outperformed their replacements. The M. Takers and Good Fellas were in a battle that any other week would have been prime GOW material. The Takers outlasted the Good Fellas as the TITANS could not overcome a 15 point deficit on Monday night. In a game where both teams scored over 60, the Takers led by Faulk and Garcia avoided a Good Fella sweep. The Fellas, despite good games by McNabb and C-Mart, have now lost 6 in a row after starting 3-0. The Quiet Storm, George and Nedney could not overcome an 8 point lead on Monday night against the Hammer Heads. This game also was a prime GOW material most weeks, but not this one. The Storm was led by Brooks who made up for his disappointing week last week. The Heads had a 12 by Thrash sitting on the bench that would have made for a more comfortable Monday. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black Revenge and Black & Blue Attack. Going into Sunday, the Attack was leading 98-54 going into Sunday Night. It looked like it was over. The Attack added 7 by the RAIDERS, which became very important as Shaun Alexander followed it up with 36 more points giving him a 49 on the night and leaving the Revenge down by 2 going into Monday night with the RAVENS defense. If it went to tiebreakers, the Revenge would have won 67-55 (those are pretty good scores for whole starting lineups). The Attack held on, avoided the sweep and won the first game ever that involved 2 teams scoring over 100 points. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
