The M. Takers pulled out the victory over their old rival the Black Revenge, with Pinkston in their back pocket on Monday night. The Bye week havoc caught both of these teams hard and produced a relatively low sc oring affair. The Takers lost Faulk due to injury but had Canidate as an insurance policy and he came through with an MVP performance. The backup QBs combined for 6 points in this game.

The Pre-Game Hype:

The M. Takers and Black Revenge will meet in a game featuring backup QB's with a possible Elite Spot on the line. Let's see how the grizzled Vets handle the pressure.

The Predictions/History:

  Norm:    M. Takers     47      Black Revenge 44

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Good Fellas and the Sharks. The Good Fellas, McNabb, Akers and Mitchell could not overcome a 13 point lead by the Sharks and Toomer on Monday night. Despite the "W" the Sharks have been hindered by what looked like a strong running game out of the Draft. Taylor goes down (what he does best besides scoring points) and Stephen Davis has disappeared. Favre is keeping the Sha rks alive, but he needs some help form those top picks. The Fellas are on a 3 game skid and may be in trouble.

The Pre-Game Hype:

The Good Fellas will try to keep pace with the other 3-2 teams against the Sharks. The Sharks will try to jump up in the logjam and keep momentum on their side.

The Predictions/History:

Norm:    Sharks        48      Good Fellas   47
Spock:   Good Fellas   52      Sharks        45

The red-hot Hammer Heads (to the most of the league's liking I'm sure) put a big time whipping on the formerly undefeated Dream Team. I expected a decent day out of Culpepper, but when the Bus starts throwing 9 point TDs, you just know it I not going to be a good day if your going against him. Throw in nice games by Morton and Biakabatuka and you get the Heads 2nd straight helmet. The Dream Team has now scored less than 40 for the 2nd straight week. Maybe the chinks in the armor are starting to show. Maybe the armor was no more than an illusion to begin with, only time will tell.

The Pre-Game Hype:

The Dream Team get hit hard by the bye while the Hammer Heads remain relatively unscathed. The Heads are fresh off their first win (a helmet at that) and are itching to give the Dream team their first loss.

The Predictions/History:

Spock:   Dream Team    64      Hammer Heads  46

The Quiet Storm and a 38 point lead were too much for the Black and Blue Attack and Staley to overcome on Monday night. The Storm was led by Pittman and Nedney. The Storm has now scored 60-plus in the last two weeks and are trying to shake the low-scoring defensive battle plan. The Black and Blue missed a perfect opportunity to make up ground on the Dream Team.

The Pre-Game Hype:

The Quiet Storm and Black & Blue will meet in another battle that might have a Elite Spot on the line. The Black & Blue loose their number one pick to the bye and the Storm after a disappointing start, put up 70 points.

The Predictions/History:

Norm:    Quiet Storm   49      Black & Blue  46
Spock:   Black & Blue  52      Quiet Storm   47

The Bull Dogs handed the Jelly Beans their 5th defeat. The Dogs with their 2nd win in 3 weeks are only a game out of the Elite. Of course the 37 points combined total of this game has to give both owners cause for concern. The Beans are now looking at along road to hoe from 1-5. I do not expect to see Randy Moss sporting the Jelly Bean colors after this year.

The Pre-Game Hype:

The Beans and Bull Dogs meet in a battle that could decide who is in the basement. A 1-5 record at this point is not a death sentence but it is getting close.

The Predictions/History:

Norm:    Jelly Beans   45      Bull Dogs     43
Spock:   Jelly Beans   42      Bull Dogs     41
