![]() For those of you who only receive these by regular mail, these will be the first notes you have received in a while. I apologize to those of you without a computer. For those of you with a computer and Internet access, you were able to get everything that was available on the web page. I would also like to publicly thank Danny Jones for filling in for me at taking lineups in Week 6 (and also all those other times when people call before I get to Football Central). I repeated that for those of you who are seeing notes for the first time since Week 4. A 4-4 team holds the last Elite spot, which means everybody still has a shot. Next week will be the only week where the schedule isn't repeated. In other words, you only face your week 9 opponents once. In case you lost it, the league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com, drop by, take a look at the archive or post a voice-message on our new "Interactive Chatterbox". These notes are also available via e-mail if you have an e-mail account. Contact me for details. The E-Mail notes get out sooner, get delivered faster and you avoid the dreaded stamp fee. Key Match-Ups to Watch this Week. Spock was 3/5 making him 19/35 (54%) on the season. He gains top billing this week. Norm (actually my guesstimate of his line) was 2/5 making him 18/35 (51%) on the year. His lines appear below: BB -3 S (87) QS -1 BD(100) All but 1 game was final by Sunday night. The one game that was not final, had a chance of the outcome changing on Monday night. |
The Sharks won their 2nd in a row against the M. Takers. The Sharks got big games out of their RB position, which was needed since Warner finished with single digits for the first time ever. It was an expensive victory as the Sharks lost Warner's services for 4 to 6 weeks. The Takers scored 69 points, held Warner to 6 points and still lost. Sometimes it is just not your year. The Sharks were led by Williams and Wheatley. So who lit the fire under Rick Williams? The Black Revenge continued their winning ways against the Hammer Heads and still only has one blemish on their record. The Revenge was led by Griese and Harrison. The Heads got goose-eggs from their running game and the loss can probably be directly blamed on that. The Dream Team defeated the high-scoring Quiet Storm. The Dream Team suffered through their 4th straight 0 at the QB position. Despite the 0's they are 3-1 in that stretch, go figure. The Storm scored under 40 for the first time this year. Of course they would not have lost and would have probably scored yet another helmet if they had started Dillon and his 50 pts. The Black & Blue Attack ended their 4 game losing streak against the Jelly Beans. The Beans have now lost 6 on a row. The Black and Blue were led by an MVP performance by Albert Connell. Connell had been relatively quiet this year, but he earned his keep this week. The Beans had a decent ground attack, but their aerial attack was non-existent. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the match between the Bull Dogs and Mac Attack. The Mac Attack, Mare and a 9 pt lead were too much for the Bull Dogs and C-Mart. The Dogs took a big lead early with a 23 on Thursday by Gramatica. The Attack chipped away and took the lead with double-digit scoring from 5 players. The Dogs got a nice game out of Beuerlein but ere hurt by an injury to Eddie Gorge. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
