![]() There was a little confusion in the Commissioner's office this week. The Mac Attack acquired Lamar Smith in week 1. Because of an error on my part due to Week 1 rustiness, the transaction made the transaction lists, but I failed to get the player on the Week 2 roster. Of course he scores 2 TD's in Week 3, the Beans checked the rosters and did not see him so they inquired about his availability with the Commissioner's office and since we did not see him we thought he was unrostered as well. The Mac Attack noticed the oversight in their roster and pointed it out. Everything was corrected and apologies were sent to all parties involved. Also, I noticed this week, the year to date point totals for the Special Teams were not being posted correctly on the rosters. This bug in on of my programs has been tracked down and exterminated. Finally, the snail-mail notes have been late the last couple of weeks. This is due mainly to the fact I have been extremely bust at work and getting the copying-envelope stuffing done has had to take a lower priority. I will try to get this back on track, but the truth is, until the 2nd week in October, I do not expect things to slow down at work. In fact I suspect they will get much worse. Sorry for the inconvenience, but it can't be helped. I have managed to keep the Web up dates timely and the e-mail versions are going out on schedule. In case you lost it, the league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com, drop by, take a look at the archive or post a voice-message on our new "Interactive Chatterbox". These notes are also available via e-mail if you have an e-mail account. Contact me for details. The E-Mail notes get out sooner, get delivered faster and you avoid the dreaded stamp fee. Key Match-Ups to Watch this Week. Norm was 4/5 making him 8/15 (53%) on the year. He gains top billing this week. Spock was 2/5 making him 8/15 (53%) on the season. His locks appear below: BD -14 S (102) QS -22 MT (86) There was only 1 game that were technically over by Sunday night. Two games were pretty much over and 2 other games were still in doubt and due for a little Monday Night Madness. |
The Quiet Storm squeaked by the Mac Attack in the only early finish. The Storm was led by McNown, Stover and the RAVENS. The Mac Attack is still reaping the rewards of the big trade as Bruce led the team in scoring. The Attack needed another 3 yards from their MVP to get them the "W" or some help at the other positions. Three yards between a "W" and "L", if there weren't some good Monday night battles this could have been "GOW". The Sharks and a 48 pt lead were too much for the Black Revenge and Marvin Harrison to overcome. The Sharks gas been putting up numbers in bunches despite only getting their first "W" this week. The Sharks were led by probable league MVP Warner. The Revenge had some nice scoring but once Warner started playing pinball with the scoreboard it was over. The Bull Dogs, McCardell and 34 pt lead were too much for the Black & Blue Attack and Taylor on Monday. The Bull Dogs were not about to be beaten by the same tricks they used last year that almost gained them a title. The Black & Blue are still in search of a RB they know will play each week. The Hammer Heads, Manning, Lindsey, the JAGUARS and a 15 pt lead were too much for the Beans, James and Smith. The Heads built their early lead on the legs of Jamal Lewis. The Beans sort of OC'ed (over CARDINALed). The "Game of the Week" honors go to the match between the Dream Team and M. Takers. The Takers and COLTS had an 18 pt lead against the Dream Team, Brunell and Vanderjagt. By the 3rd quarter the Dream Team took a 2 pt. lead. At the end of the 3rd the Takers took a 3 pt lead on a safety. Five minutes in Vanderjagt tied it back up, but the Takers held the tiebreaker. Two extra-points late in the 4th sealed the victory for the Dream Team. This was an exciting finish despite the poor records of the teams involved and some bad coaching moves on both teams. There was no way either of these teams was winning easy. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
