![]() Week 16 finds all of the elite teams locked up. The teams are decided, but there is still a chance for those positions to change. In fact, the championship is still undecided. There are Saturday games, so be aware. For the rest of us, it is all over but the consolation prizes. In case you lost it, the league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com. Finally, everybody have a Merry Christmas!! Key Match-Ups to Watch this Week. Spock was 2/5 making him 40/75 (53%) on the year. He retains top billing this week. Norm (actually my guesstimates) was 2/5 making him 35/75 (47%) on the season. His lines (actually my guesstimates) appear below: S -4 MT (92) BD -3 MA (95) Most of the games were over on Sunday. There were a couple of games where the losing team had something on Monday, but generally they were really too far behind. The Sharks, Warner, RAMS and a 25 point lead were too much for the Mac Attack, Bruce and Keyshawn to overcome. The Sharks were led by the PACKER connection of Ahman Green and Ryan Longwell. The Mac Attack had trouble finding scoring anywhere and got a surprising 0 out of wunderkid Aaron Brooks. |
The M. Takers ended all chances of ending in the basement by putting the Jelly Beans permanently in the basement. The Takers were led by Garcia who has proved to be a very valuable QB. The Beans continued to have trouble at QB as they scored yet another 0 at the top spot. The Bull Dogs ended the Dream Team elite spot hopes by defeating them rather easily. The Dogs got a monster game out of Terrel Owens on Jerry Rice's final home performance. Owens stole Jerry's thunder and a few of his team records. The Dogs also benched a monster game by Eddie George. Despite that, the Dogs won the Game when Collins notched a 9 pointer on Sunday night. The Dosgs still had Dunn, Holt and Gramattica in reserv in case Collins did not get the job done. The Hammer Heads secured their elite position by beating the Black & Blue Attack and thus eliminating the only team with a real shot going into the week to climb back up into the elite. The Heads were led by Manning and Lewis, but only scored just enough to win. The Attack, well they might think twice about questionable RB's in next years draft. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the match between the Quiet Storm and Black Revenge. If the Revenge would have prevailed they could have clinched their 1st championship (at least under the name Black Revenge). The Storm was up to the task as Culpepper led the Storm to the victory and kept the Storm Championship hopes alive. The Revenge dipped into their crystal ball again and pulled out Doug Brien, who had an admirable performance, but just not enough to make up from all the goose eggs in Denver. Week 17 will decide the Championship. Just wish this game had been schedule in Week 17 with everything on the line. Now both the Storm and revenge will have to keep one eye on the opponent at hand and the other on the scoreboard. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
