![]() Week 15 finds our first official Elite team. The Black Revenge will finish in 2nd place or better. The Mac Attack will also finish out of the elite this year for only the 2nd time in their 6 years. The Dream Team needs a miracle to avoid finishing on the outside. The Storm barring a huge point swing and a total collapse will finish in the elite. So that leaves 2 slots open for 3 teams with any real shot. In case you lost it, the league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com. Key Match-Ups to Watch this Week. Spock was 3/5 making him 38/70 (54%) on the year. He retains top billing this week. Norm (actually my guesstimates) was 2/5 making him 33/70 (47%) on the season. His lines (actually my guesstimates) appear below: S -3 MA (95) DT -6 BD (104) Most of the games were over on Sunday. There were a few games where the losing team had something on Monday, but generally they were really too far behind. The Sharks played spoiler by handing the Dream Team a loss that has all but eliminated them as Vanderjagt could not overcome a 28 point lead on Monday night. The Dream Team defense managed to keep Warner too a 6 point yardage bonus, but they were pretty much killed by an Ahman Green 39 yard TD in run-out-the-clock garbage time. The TD was worth 15 and put Green in yardage bonus territory. |
The M. Takers ended the Hammer Heads 6-game winning streak as the Heads and Manning could not overcome a 46 point lead, Moulds and the COLTS. The Heads are still in the thick of it, but the loss pretty much eliminates them from the Championship. Garcia's MVP performance ends a small lull. The Black Revenge tightened their hold on the top spot with a victory over the Mac Attack. The Revenge eked out the win with a RAIDERS score on Sunday night and still had Harrison & Christie in reserve. The revenge was led by waiver-wire pickup of the year Mike Anderson. The Quiet Storm kept their Championship hopes alive by soundly defeating the Black & Blue Attack. Culpepper and Faulk led the Storm. The Storm breached the 1000 point barrier with 2 games to go and may seriously challenge the season scoring record of 1110 (set by the Dream Team in 1995,aka the Year of the Wide Receiver - OK I have nothing good to say about my team and am forced to rehash stories of glories past). It would be almost incredible for a team to set the single season scoring record and not win the Championship, but this well may be the case. The Black & Blue is still very much alive for a Elite Spot, but their low point total may wind up killing them. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the match between Bull Dogs and Jelly Beans. The Bull Dogs all but clinched their 2nd straight Elite spot with a victory over the Jelly Beans. The Beans, James and Rob Johnson could not overcome a 27 point lead on Monday Night. In a surprise move, the Dogs showed Beurlein the bench this week and turned to Kitna (who is having trouble nailing down the starting spot in Seattle). The move turned out great for the Dogs. The Dogs got nice numbers out of George and Owens as well. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
