![]() Week 14 finds our first official eliminations. The crew at 4-10 has been eliminated from a Elite Spot. The Black Revenge has all but sewed up a Elite Spot with a 3 game lead and a large points advantage. In fact with a 2 game lead and that point advantage it will be hard for anybody except maybe the Quiet Storm to take the title off of them. In case you lost it, the league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com, drop by, take a look at the archive or post a voice-message on our new "Interactive Chatterbox". These notes are also available via e-mail if you have an e-mail account. The E-Mail notes get delivered faster and you avoid the dreaded stamp fee. Key Match-Ups to Watch this Week. Spock was 4/5 making him 35/65 (54%) on the year. He retains top billing this week. Norm was 2/5 making him 31/65 (48%) on the season. His lines (actually my guesstimates) appear below: DT -3 S (105) BR -4 MA (96) Most games were over on Sunday. There was one game where the team behind had a few players going, but they were way behind. The other game that was tight pretty much hinged on whether a Defense would score. The Bull Dogs completed the Season sweep of the Sharks and jumped back up into the Elite. The Sharks have been eliminated and must play spoiler from this point on. The Bull Dogs were led by a monster game by Dunn (who they started in place of C-Mart who also put up some pretty good numbers) The Sharks were unhappy to get a goose-egg out of Warner. I did not think it was possible for him to play a whole game and do that. |
The Quiet Storm kept their Championship hopes alive by completing the season sweep against the M. Takers. The Storm was led by Dillon, one of the 200-yard foursome at QB. Maybe we overdid that yardage bonus thing. I did not imagine I would be giving out so many 12 (and even 15) point yardage bonuses. The Storm is keeping pace with the Revenge. The Dream Team completed the season sweep of the Jelly Beans, climbed up to 500 and is still alive for a Elite spot. The Dream team got nice games out of Brunell & Rice after a disappointing game by Moss on Thursday. The Beans suffered from yet another poor performance at QB. The Hammer Heads, Alexander, Glenn and a 54 point lead were too much for the Mac, Grbac and Sly Morris to overcome. The Heads have now won 6 in a row, are red hot and right in the midst of the Elite Battle. The Heads were led by Manning, Robert Smith and even got a big 10 out of their defense. The Mac Attack suffered their 4th straight loss and are in serious danger of being eliminated. As their tragic number, barring a huge point swing is down to 1. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the match between the Black Revenge and the Black & Blue Attack. This "Black Bowl" featured 2 of the best RB performances of the week. Fred Taylor hit pay-dirt 3 times and put up 180 yards for the Attack. Mike Anderson of the Revenge put the ball in the end-zone 4 times and rolled up 251 yards. A great game by Del Greco made the Revenge require some scoring form their Sunday night double-bubble. The Double-Bubble answered leaving the Black & Blue down by 7 with only the CHIEFS left on Monday night. The CHIEFS came up short and the Revenge is still looking good for the Title.
