![]() Week 11 finds the battle for the top spots getting interesting. Also for most of us the Elite Line got raised another notch, and there is as always one less week to get above that height. The time to move is now. In case you lost it, the league's url is http://swffl.50megs.com, drop by, take a look at the archive or post a voice-message on our new "Interactive Chatterbox". These notes are also available via e-mail if you have an e-mail account. Contact me for details. The E-Mail notes get out sooner, get delivered faster and you avoid the dreaded stamp fee. Key Match-Ups to Watch this Week. Spock was 3/5 making him 23/45 (51%) on the year. He gains top billing this week. Norm was 2/5 making him 22/45 (49%) on the season. His lines (actually my guesstimates) appear below: S -2 BB (94) MT -4 BD (98) No game was technically over on Sunday. There were two games that were pretty much over. The rest had very real Monday night implications. Monday night madness was definitely in effect in Week 10. In fact there were 2 games decide by less than 5 with Monday players going and one game that had a few lead changes. GOW was a tough call until the last play of Monday Night football. The Black & Blue Attack swept the season series against the M. Takers as Cris Carter could not overcome a 35 point lead. The Black & Blue was led by Gannon, Davis and Hakim. The Takers got a disappointing performance out of Garcia. The late injury call on Janikowski did not help either. By the way, Emmitt and Carter outscored Bruce for about the 4th time in a row. |
The Mac Attack swept the defending Champion Dream Team. The Attack was led by an unreal MVP performance by Elvis. The "King" of KC put up an MVP 38 points including 18 bonus points for a 500 yard passing game. The Dream Team and Moss could not overcome a 44 point lead. The Attack has won 3 in a row and is slowly climbing the standings. The Jelly Beans and a 22 point lead were just barely too much for the Sharks, Ahman and Longwell. In fact if Freeman is ruled down or touched down on the last play, chances are Longwell kicks a FG and the Sharks win. It was that close. The Beans win for the first time since week 2 and have taken the long slide form the top of the standings to the bottom. Can they make a similar climb back up the standings. The longest journey starts with the first step and the Beans made that step this week. In what was the "GOW" until the wee-early hours on Tuesday morning, the Hammer Heads and Quiet Storm traded the led back and forth on Monday. The Storm took the early lead, Anderson gave the Heads the lead back, Culpepper gave the Storm the lead and then Robert Smith salted away the victory gaining 3 pts on the TD pass and also another 6 in bonus points. With both teams putting up 60 points, it was a shame someone had to get the 'L'. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the match between Black Revenge and the Bull Dogs. This week there were ample choices for "GOW". The last play of the game on Monday night made the selection a no-brainer. The Bulldogs went into OT on Monday up by 23 and fairly sure they had climbed into a first-place tie (2nd in points). The Revenge was looking at their 2nd loss in a row and possibly a drop to 2nd if the Storm pulled out the 'W'. One amazing 9 point double-bubble from Favre to Freeman cut the lead to 5. The yardage pushed Freeman over a 100 and gave the Revenge a 1 point win and a 1 game lead on the 2nd place pack. The Revenge has been making some interesting choices at QB the last couple of weeks but it is extremely hard to argue with success. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
