The Hammer Heads defeated the Sharks and still had Glenn in reserve. The Sharks, who are starting to sound more and more like "Toast" were led by Warner and Muhammed. By the way, can somebody explain how a QB tosses for 386 yards and only manages 1 short TD. The Heads got fine performances from Manning and Hollis, and that was enough this week.

The Pre-Game Hype:

The Sharks and the Hammer Heads square off in hopes of notching their first "W" of the year. The winner is right back in it, the loser will be facing an uphill battle.

The Predictions/History:

The Jelly Beans lost the first week's helmet to the Quiet Storm. This week they got a little revenge as they nabbed the helmet and handed the Storm their firs "L" of the year. The Beans (or are we back to the "Al mighty" Beans) have 2 successive 65 point games and have a hold on first place. The Storm put up 53 and lost, that is tough but hardly unprecedented. The Beans were led by an MVP performance by Jimmy Smith(291 yds and 3 9-pt TDS). The Storm got double-di git scoring out of 4 positions, but couldn't overcome the career game by Smith.

The Pre-Game Hype:

The 2 week 1 juggernauts, the Quiet Storm and Jelly Beans, will battle for top spot. This one might be shootout.

The Predictions/History:

Norm:    Quiet Storm  46      Jelly Beans  45
Spock:   Quiet Storm  82      Jelly Beans  55

The Black Revenge stayed undefeated against the winlees defending Champion Dream Team. The Revenge got double-digit scoring from 5 players including a whopping 17 from the BUC's defense. The Dream Team is still looking for their 1st RB points despite having the lead's top scoring RB on the bench. Methinks he will not remain on the bench this week.

The Pre-Game Hype:

The Black Revenge will try to kick the Defending Champ Dream Team when they are down. The Dream Team will try to avoid that first-to-worst disease that seems to plague this league.

The Predictions/History:

Norm:    Dream Team    52      Black Revenge 45

The Bull Dogs defeated the Money Takers, with C-Mart still in reserve. The Bull Dogs moved up to a 500 record and this year they are scoring points a reasonable pace. The Takers are scoring points at the rate the Bull Dogs set last year but are not getting the wins. They will either have to start putting up more points or try and hire the Dogs defensive coordinator from last year. I hear he is looking for a job. OK, the all rookie thing does not work, perhaps a blend of rooks and vets.

The Pre-Game Hype:

The Bull Dogs and M. Takers will also be looking for their first "W" this year. At least football central is guaranteed at least 1 "W" in week 2.

The Predictions/History:

  Norm:    Bull Dogs    46      M. Takers    45

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the 1st semi-annual "Attack" bowl. The Black and Blue Attack and a 9 pt lead were too much for the Mac Attack and Bledsoe. Curiously the Mac's benched Cris Carter (probably because the Vikings threw the ball 3 times in week 1). Week 2 was a tad different. A Carter start would have had us tied going into Monday night, and maybe finally a chance to use the tiebreaker rule that has not b een used once since we installed it. Of course Norm says that means it is working. The Black & Blue were led by the legs of Gannon. That Davis/Taylor and their backups seemed like a great strategy on paper, somehow it has not worked out that way. The Mac Attack was led by Rod Smith in the loss and had a lot of bench points. Always play Monday Night Kickers!!

The Pre-Game Hype:

The Mac Attack and Black & Blue Attack meet in the 1st edition of the "Attack" bowl. The winner will probably wind up in 2nd, unless the defenses stay home.

The Predictions/History:

Norm:    Black & Blue 49      Mac Attack   46
Spock:   Mac Attack   30      Black & Blue 28
