NORM'S LOCKS FORMAT - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

Well Week 6 is in the books and there are no undefeated teams left. In fact 3 of the 4 elite teams lost this week. This week when you are considering your lineup, please remember that the "CARDINALS, JAGUARS & TITANS" are off this week. Also there is a Thursday night game, so get your CHIEFS & RAVENS starts in before kickoff.

In other league news, I've added Team logos to the web site, they're not great, but it is a start. Point your favorite browser (Netscape works better than MS-IE) to http://www.50megs.com/users2/ksmalley/. This week, I should get the missing sections of the notes up in a web friendly format. Send me your ideas for web content. Like the league, this is you web site too, so let's all try to make it look good. The "Interactive Chatterbox" is a good way to get messages to the whole league. I am posting the Notes Chatterbox there and Norm, now informs me that he is visiting the site. Getting your notes by E-Mail is cheaper and quicker, I still don't understand why there isn't more interest in it. Oh well.

Key Match-Ups to Watch this Week.

This week the M. Takers (9th in points) will probably have to win against the Dream Team to keep their Elite Spot. The Dream Team will try to recover from their 1st loss if the season. The Jelly Beans and Black Revenge square off in another battle for the basement. The loser goes to 1-6 and will be in serious trouble. The Hammer Heads will take on the Sharks and try to make it 2 in a row against the league's 300 point club. The Sharks will try to bounce back from a severe but-kicking. The Bulldogs (8th in points) will probably have to win against the Quiet Storm to keep their Elite Spot also. The Storm just hopes the RAMS return to the aerial attack this week. The Mac Attack and Black & Blue Attack face off in the first "Attack Bowl" of the year. The Macs are 2nd in points but are having trouble making that last leap over the Elite Line. The Black & Blue put up numbers worthy of a defending champion last week. Are they back?

Norm was 3-5 this week making him 12-20 (60%) on the season and he re-gained top billing. Spock was 2-5 this week making him 12-20 (60%) on the season his lines appear below:

   DT -13 MT (85)     BD   -5 QS (81)
   JB  -3 BR (83)     MA   -7 BB (97)
    S  -5 HH (85)

Every game was decided on Sunday. Two games were final. In 3 games the only players left on Monday were in the winning team's starting lineup. In another 2 games, the winning team had a pretty good lead going into Monday night.

The M. Takers won their 3rd in a row against the Quiet Storm. The Takers owe this win almost totally to a shrewd free-agent acquisition. Unlike many teams, the Takers did not want to eat another 0 at the ST position, so they acquired the RAMS. The RAMS ST scored twice, which was good. The ST scores and an monster running game by Faulk left the Storm's QB with little reason to throw the rock. The Storm lost their 1st game with Warner at QB and also had their 3 game winning streak halted.

The Black & Blue Attack returned to Championship form as they put up over 70 pts. for the 1st time since week 1 against the Sharks. McCaffrey and Hanson led the charge for the Attack as they put up 81 pts. despite a 0 from their QB. The Attack also became the first team ever to declare their ST a tiebreaker. The Sharks also got a goose egg from the QB spot, but did not get nearly enough support from the rest of the cast.

The Bulldogs wrapped up their victory against the Black Revenge early, even though they still had Aikman, the Rocket and the BOYS going on Monday night. A resurgent Bettis led the Bulldogs. The Revenge did not manage to crack double digits. The Revenge even tried the old "Let Al call in the line-up" trick to no avail. It is not looking good for the revenge. The fans in "Death Valley" (is that it Toast?) are calling for some heads to roll, literally. I thought EAGLE fans were bad.

The Hammer Heads handed the Dream Team their 1st defeat of the year. Beuerlein (waiver-wire pickup) led the Heads with an MVP performance as he outscored all the other starting QBs in the league combined. The Dream Team lost Batch for 2nd half and failed to broach the 50 pt. barrier for the 1st time this season. The Heads just added insult to injury with Emmitt on Monday night.

The "Game of the Week" goes to the contest between the Mac Attack and the Jelly Beans. The Mac Attack still had the GIANTS in reserve on Monday, but had already notched the win, despite losing their QB in the 2nd half (and possibly longer) due to ineffectiveness. The Attack got a stellar performance out of Mare. The Beans running game was decent, but they needed just a little more help from other positions. The Beans have lost 4 in a row and their season is now on life support at 1-5.

CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
Dream Team (Norm):
"Rams win, Dream team loss - what happened there? To the league: I guess I am getting no response about the RAMS, because what could you say bad about them. P.S.: I am changing the name of the RAMS to Machine - Offensively & Defensively."
