![]() Week 4 finds only one undefeated team left in the league. Also that logjam of 7 (1-2) teams form last week has broken up a bit. Can anyone remember the elite 3 running backs in the draft this year? How about Terrell "MRI Pending" Davis, Fred "can't make it to the 2nd quarter" Taylor, and Jamal "Sign a big contract then take an early exit" Anderson. Who would have thought Stephen Davis would be Mr. Consistency and Tim Biakabatuka would be the 2nd coming of Barry Sanders in the "long Homerun department". Oh well. For those of you who have lost your 1st round picks, sorry. For those of you who haven't count your blessings. This week when you are considering your lineup, please remember that the "PANTHERS, REDSKINS & SEAHWAKS" are off this week. In other league news, after a few complaints I will be eliminating the Hot Free-Agent section. Also, I have a web site up and going. Point your favorite browser to http://www.50megs.com/users2/ksmalley. Right now, I have transactions, schedules, box scores and team pages up. I will try to have preliminary results up on the web by Monday afternoon each week. I still have some more of my own ideas for stuff to go on the Web, but I am also willing to listen to other ideas. Like the league itself, this is you web site too, not just mine - so let's all try to make it look good. The "Interactive Chatterbox" can be (has already) been used for drumming up transactions. It could also be a nice way to announce something to the whole league. If you do post something on the "Interactive Chatterbox", try to remember to keep the language clean. I still haven't heard if anybody else is willing to try the e-mail version of the Notes. Those that are receiving it now are usually getting it before the snail-mail versions. All you need is an e-mail account and the ability to receive attachments.Key Match-Ups to Watch this Week. This week M. Takers will try to knock the Bull Dogs out of their tenuous Elite spot (despite this week's very impressive performance, the Dogs are still not a top 4 scoring team). The Quiet Storm and Black Revenge will square off in a battle of ex-partners. The Mac Attack will try to knock the Dream Team back to reality. The Sharks will try to get start a new winning streak against the Jelly Beans in the "Cedar Lane" contest. The Black & Blue Attack and Hammer Heads will square off in the battle for the basement (my how the mighty have fallen). Norm was 4-5 this week making him 6-10 (60%) on the season and earning him "Top Billing" this week. Spock was 3-5 making him 6-10 (60%) on the season and his lines appear below: BD -10 MT (74) S -14 JB (106) |
In reality all of the games were more or less decided on Sunday. In 3 of the games the only players left on Monday were in the winning team's starting lineup. In the other 2 games, the winning team had a pretty good lead going into Monday night. The M. Takers pulled out the "W" against the Hammer Heads on Sunday. The Takers still had Moulds in reserve, but they did not need him. Bledose who had great numbers despite only tossing one TD, led the Takers. The Takers got a 0 out of Harbausgh as he joined the NFL's walking wounded. The Mac Attack, with Mare still to come, wrapped up their "W" early against the Black Revenge. Randall led the Mac Attack to the "W" as he has returned to 1st round form. The Revenge was hurt by this week's bye losing Manning, E.G. Green and Bradford. In a high scoring affair the Quiet Storm beat the Jelly Beans. Warner & Moss led the Storm to victory. Actually the Storm is 2-0 since making the QB switch. The Beans got an MVP performance out of Brad Johnson, but it was not enough to beat the Storm (it would have been plenty against most of the rest of the league.) The Bull Dogs captured their first "Helmet" against the Black & Blue Attack. The Dogs carried a 62 pt. lead into Monday Night against the Attack and Tony Martin. Needless to say Martin couldn't cover that gap. The Dogs "Lone Star Attack" was led by Aikman, the "Rocket" and the COWBOYS. The Black & Blue are 1-3 and a 3-peat is looking doubtful at best. The "Game of the Week" goes to the contest between the Dream Team and Sharks. In the battle of the undefeated, the Dream Team's 23 pt. lead was too much for the Sharks and Smith to overcome. Albert Connell of all people led the Dream Team to a 4-0 record. Missing players on both sides of the field due to the bye week, dulled some of this contest's luster.
