![]() Everything was back to normal this week and hopefully things should remain that way. You may be getting these notes a little late, as the Commissioner is a little under the weather this week. I am having some leg trouble, might be a pulled hammy. Hopefully, nothing as bad as "Bruce's" problem last year. This week when you are considering your lineup, please remember that the "LIONS, COLTS & PACKERS" are off this week. In other league news, I have a web site up and going. Point your favorite browser to http://www.50megs.com/users2/ksmalley. Right now, I only have the "Notes" version up, but I will be adding more stuff as the season progresses. Also I haven't heard if anybody else is willing to try the e-mail version of the Notes. Those that are receiving it now are usually getting it before the snail-mail versions. All you need is an e-mail account and the ability to receive attachments. The "Notes" look fine using Microsoft's Word '97 Viewer, which is free from Microsoft.Key Match-Ups to Watch this Week. This week the M. Takers and Hammer Heads will battle it out for the basement, as they both struggle to reach the century mark in points. The Black Revenge and Mac Attack will battle for the last Elite spot as only 9 pts. separate them. The Sharks and Dream Team square it off in the battle of the undefeated teams. The Quiet Storm and Jelly Beans will battle to avoid a 1-3 start. The defending Champion Black & Blue Attack will try to knock the Bull Dogs out of the Elite as they are too are under the century mark but have a 2-1 record. Spock was 3-5 (60%) and his lines appear above. Norm was 2-5 (40%) and his lines appear below: MT -1 HH (30) QS -2 JB (72) Once again, most of the games were decided by Sunday. The Sharks maintained their hold on 1st place and remained undefeated against the M. Takers. Favre and potential MVP of the year candidate "Marvin Harrison" led the Sharks. Most of the Takers took the week off. The Black Revenge carried a large lead into Monday night against the Hammer Heads. The Revenge still had the CARDINAL triple-ripple in reserve on Monday. Many of us were wondering about the Benching of Manning. We suspect we may see the Plummer again this week and that may be his last start of the season (even though Manning is 0-2 as a starter). The Heads in an effort to be competitive picked up a ST this week and it actually paid off in 12 pts. |
The Quiet Storm notched their first "W" of the year in resounding fashion. They grabbed the "Helmet" against the defending champion Black & Blue Attack. The Storm was led by Kurt Warner (they do score a lot of points in Arena football don't they) and a career day by Todd Peterson. The Black & Blue still had J.J. Stokes on Monday night but he could not overcome the early lead of the Storm. In another contest with potential "Monday Night Madness", the Dream Team and a 19 pt. lead held off the Jelly Beans and Terell Owens. The Dream Team, though 2nd in points is the only team that has scored over 50 pts. every week. The Dream Team was led by the surprising Charlie Batch and the SEAHAWKS ST. The Beans loss can be traced to Brad Johnson's first disappointing outing of the year. The "Game of the Week" goes to the contest between the Bull Dogs and the Mac Attack. I usually don't like low-scoring affairs as GOW, but it could not be avoided this week. The Bull Dogs, Steve Young and Jerry Rice overcame a 5 pt. deficit to the Mac Attack. It was a good thing the Dogs got their score early as Young got knocked out in the first half and the Niner's pretty much went to the ground game after that.
